Teresa, What got you into DIY’ing? I have never seen any buckets in that shape before. Awesome fine. Edited: Had to take a call. The 2X4 turned out beautiful. My son burned my whole pile of treated deck wood that I was going to use to make crosses with. Ironically, I was very “crossed” with him. That frame is a very old frame made out of real wood. Where did you get your brayer? Are those cabbage roses on the rice paper an transfer paper. I have always cut my rose at an angle under water. Also, by a 2 liter Sprite. Put 1/4 water to 1/2 Sprite this prevents the tips of you rose from closing off. Which the can’t absorb water. I have had roses my husband sent me last well over a mont. when you get the. Cut at an angle under water and place in new mixture of sprite and water. Also, keep eye on water level. You may to recoup ends and add new water mixture and remove loose petals and leaves as Teresa said. Also, press your leaves and petals between parchment paper In books pages. Can use those in crafts later on.

A florist told me fresh roses should be cut in a bucket of water. Keep the stems submerged. It only takes 10 seconds for the cut end to close up so it won't absorb water.

Also cutting stems under water prevents the flower from getting air into the stem which causes the flower to go limp. It's called an embolism.

I would love to know where the transfers you used on the white painted buckets came from. They are not on the French ones noted. They flower buckets are just beautiful! Your work is awesome.

I found the transfers that she used. They are called "Classic Vintage Labels" . They look similar to the ones she has listed. If you use the link she has listed, you will find them at this same place. They are a little more expensive but to me all of them are well worth the money. I hope this helps.

I love all your ideas. The frame has me intrigued. Does Sweet Pickins Milk Paint always crackle? Or only if you dry it with the hairdryer? I thought I had to do something to make it crackle.

From my own experience with milk paint, it usually depends on the surface you’re applying it to…the smoother the surface, the more cracking and peeling it will do on its own. But applying heat with a hairdryer or heat gun will usually always give you more of the crackle effect, regardless of the surface.
