Great skimmer but I was wondering if it is possible to have a skimmer (a much smaller for a 40gl tank) hidden away because they are unsightly.

Great work on your DIY skimmer, is it still in use? I'm sure the micro bubbles being released back into your aquarium have massively died down by now due to your skimmer being sufficiently 'broken in'. I think counter current skimmers are arguably the most efficient skimmers available. If you'd have incorporated a recirculating design it would have been a totally bad ass piece of kit! Good stuff

Great, so where is all the stinky skimmate or do we have a skimmer that does not skim well?
@27ppatel11 жыл бұрын
It takes a while for the skimmer to 'break-in'. this was sold to another customer. I've seen this skimmer take out a lot of skimmate.

thanks for sharing. great job. total cost of this skimmer? if i put a foam disc to stop the bubbles would the disc be accessible for cleaning?

Very nice work..i am going to attempt one myself.. One question ,,how you are getting all those tiny bubbles from just the powerhead ..There is no air pump or stone?

awesome brother, I subcribe for you right now, but I have a couple question. do we really need to add wood air stone in there to create buble? and where do I buy the plexy tube?

hey whats going on, do you have plans for this skimmer i can use?
@feedthemachine9912 жыл бұрын
Fast response thanks .. So i would need a special venturi pump ? Regular PH's won't do..I have old hagen 50's and they have a venturi hole but don't produce nowhere near the bubbles yours did..I guess its all about the type of impeller right? Not sure what pump to get then ..My system is 280 gallons so the size you built here is what i want to try too.

Which blenny is that?

So I guess you didn't need the main chamber anywhere near as big as what you have
@aduroseau11 жыл бұрын

He clearly stated that it was a test run on his tank, he built it for a friend.

the protein should fall over the side of the 2" pipe otherwise you risk that the protein gets back in to the fish tank
@rathegod49715 жыл бұрын
Love it but it's way too big and you could have bought one for the price it cost to build this one.

Ha, if you sold him the plans, he wouldn't pay you anyway.
