DIY Puffed Sleeve Top Thrift Flip | Owlipop DIY

Transform a regular black shirt into a cute sheer mesh puff sleeve top follwing this easy tutorial. All you need is a (thrifted) black shirt, some mesh or tulle fabric and some black elastic band. As usual, it's a really quick and easy DIY even for sewing beginners. I hope you enjoy!

Hi! I really like this tutorial!! It's just what I needed. But I have some questions: 1) I'm using a blue dress that is off the shoulder with a sleeveless drill, if I cut the frills off then I'm scared the dress will fall apart. Should I base the puff sleeves from a different shirt, will that work too? 2) Because I'm working with a dress and still want to shape the middle of it, should I follow pinning it like you did? 3) I want to attach mesh to the top part to make it a bit puffy and on the bottom like a skirt. Should I just pin the mesh to the chest area and skirt area and sew it down?? Thank you so much!!

Hi, 1. You will need a sleeve from a shirt to make the pattern, but you don’t have to cut it, just trace it on you paper. 2. Yes. If you want it more fitted you have to tale the sides in. 3.I’m not sure what you mean here... to add more fabric make sure you sew the pieces right side facing eachoder to hide the seam. Hope it helps :)
