Wow! I love this Pipe Gate, it is so cute, love the different size circles, and I love that it's on each side, I really like the look, and I see that it is a lot of work, but sometimes things that are cute like this take more work but are worth it in the end. Thanks so much for this video, Hope that you are staying safe and healthy, sending love and hugs, bye for now.

Love this video. TYSM. Here's a great tip! You could pound T-Posts into the ground for the posts, and then cover the T-Posts with PVC pipe. This eliminates the need for quickrete, etc. Takes just a minute to pound the T-Posts down. For extra sturdiness, buy taller ones, and pound down 2 feet below surface.

My cattle dog had to have surgery (a suspicious fatty tumor on her abdomen) ... she ended up with razor burn and, of course, stitches. She did not do well with a Cone .. so I tried a summer tank top of mine and a robe's soft belt to keep it on/in place. It worked great for her. Part of the issue was she was afraid of flying insects (she got stung as a puppy) .. so when she was out with me (I always was outside with her during her recovery and most anytime), but when the stitches pulled or bugs were flying about .. she would totally freeze -- covering her skin up with the tank top (a Y tee shirt, made everything all right and she was comfortable moving). * * I love your gate project .. and I love your Greyhound!! I subscribed!

Awesome ladies! I used to work in construction. Heavy lifting, tore up my back unfortunately.. Love DIYing and doing stuff with my hands. (But now have to do much lighter stuff) Tried talking my daughter into making stuff together like you two but she's just not into it :-( but we both could use a little extra money.. I subscribe to hometalk and noticed other beautiful things you made with PVC. That's how I found your channel and of course had to subscribe. Love what you do, really wish I could find a partner.

What type of blade did you use on your miter saw? I'm looking to create a trellis, and I enjoy the pvc circles.
@MotherDaughterProjectsDIY3 жыл бұрын
We just used the standard blade that came on our miter saw, but they do make blades that are better for PVC pipe. www.bobvila.com/articles/cutting-pvc-pipe/

Great video as always, girls! 👍👍 Just a suggestion, Rapid Set's "Cement All" product is more convenient for that type of application as opposed to their concrete mix. It's 9 bucks more... but it's stronger (9k psi vs 6k psi at 28 days), and has the same cure rate. But most importantly? You can mix it at a thin plaster consistency in a bucket with a $9 spiral mixer drill attachment from the Depot. I've mixed literally thousands of pounds over the years in a rubbermaid pitcher from the grocery store for easy pouring into molds for ornamental concrete statuary. Just a warning, if you try it? You'll probably never go back to anything else for smaller projects.
@MotherDaughterProjectsDIY4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Russell! We have used cement all many times and are big fans! We love the smooth finish it provides!

This could work for a renter, you would just need to dig out the concrete post when you move or not concrete them in.

When I used PVC pipe to make lawn sprinklers, the sun rotted the PVC after a tear or two and I had to redo the sprinkler or the legs on either end and the same problems happened after a year or two, again. Would like to try your gate. But am afraid the sun will rot it out again. Wish you the best on your project.

Hi Judy! Have you tried furniture grade PVC pipe? This is our first time trying it. It's UV resistant so we are interested to see how long it will hold up. - Steph

@TheVonness3 жыл бұрын
Buy a galvanized steel post 1/4in smaller than your pvc. Bang it into the ground. Use a tee connector on the bottom right instead of an elbow when connecting the PVC pipes. This leaves the bottom of the pipe open. You can hook the pvc gate right over the galvanized steel post.

Suggestion.... you have no picture of the gate without one or both of you standing in front of it, blocking a view of the whole thing. Should remember to get unobstructed photos or video of the finidhed product. I doubt I could use it with a pitbull, bit it looks great.
