Absolutely Incredible!! I am a beginner and this looks really approachable to me. It's getting colder now and I dream of a quilted jacket like this for this fall. But to buy one with a lovely print is actually kind of pricey. Definitely going to attempt to make one for myself as soon as I thrift a blanket. I will update the comment after I make it! Wish me luck))

I just bought a quilted throw fro a thrift shop to do exactly this type of jacket. Great idea to go cropped and 3/4 sleeves. I was brainstorming how to handle this dilemma. Glad I found your tutorial. Next time salvage some of the binding to put on the neck area to stay consistent. Looks good.

Thank you so much for this! I've been hunting for a pattern for this shape of jacket for a couple of weeks, but all I find are jackets with fiddly bits that cost way more than I want to pay or pdfs that I would have to print on my elderly patchy printer. I'm planning on stitching together lots of denim pieces and scraps from other projects to make the fabric for my jacket. Watching this has shown me just how easy it can be. Thank you, thank you, thank you. :)

I just saw one very similar to this in a shop the other day and it cost a bomb! Very well done. I want to have a go but will make the fronts a bit wider and the sleeves a bit more shaped and longer, then it should help me now they've taken away the Winter Fuel Allowance for people like me. Thank you so much for this.

tried this, failed miserably, but I know why. The measurement for the front panel WILL NOT WORK if you have more than a B or maybe C cup, it won't be wide enough. measure with a flexible tape from the middle of your armpit AROUND the breast to the center of the chest, then add the seam allowance. Otherwise, the pieces won't come anywhere close to meeting near the middle. Fortunately, I had an old quilt, so I only lost time and not money. Fortunately, I have enough left to make a few tote bags.
@HLBear3 ай бұрын
That's great advice. From the illustrated pattern pieces, I think this is more of a shrug jacket not meant to meet in the front, but I like the front to shut. 😊
