What type of thinner did you use to reduce the raptor liner ?
@akakamyk9 ай бұрын
@@NOSChild350 Author of the video used universal 2k thinner, but if you will look for "RAPTOR TINTABLE data sheet" Upol is recommending usage of their own product named "SYSTEM 20 - S2044 Fast Drying Universal Thinner"

I've done one with Raptor liner and 6 vehicles with Monstaliner... both are similar. The biggest take away is prep, prep, prep... overlap your spray patterns to avoid the dreaded 'tiger striping" and keep a small amount of product and a small artist brush for touch up once you peel off the tape... There are always a few holidays. Good luck!

That gray is the exact color I want for my Daihatsu Hijet 4WD mini truck that's on its way from Japan. The mini truck is white and I'm painting the exterior and interior gray. If that job goes as planned, I'll probably use black bed liner on the outside of my black 2005 4Runner so it matches the door jams. I want the mini truck pickup bed to be rough textured and everything else to be a much smoother surface finish, so thanks for showing the top loading spray gun with thinned urethane for a smoother finish. Raptor has flecks of rubber so there is a minimal texture, but Monstaliner has no texture additives. The texture is a function of the application method, so in theory I can thin it and get a smooth paint finish, with multiple coats for a thick durable coating with consistent color throughout for scratch resistance, chip resistance and overall durability.

Hmmm. We are trying this and it looks amazing but when you look down the side of the truck you can see parts that are more shiny than other parts… almost like uneven stripes. We have two more bottles and will try to do a dust coat to eliminate that but this is not as easy as you all made it look. We’ve had nothing but trouble shooting it through a gun like that with a 2.0 tip and it being reduced. Does look cool though
