Thank you for such wonderful videos!!!!!! I have been doing horse rescue, and every horse that has come here I have either taken mane or tail hair and I so want to have something made from each horse instead of sitting in baggies!!! All of them have changed my life in such a huge way. Thank you!!!

Depends on the design and browbandsize. For this video I used 2mm stones (SS6.5) I use this size for the designs shown most. But of course you can use larger ones too. Or even combine different sizes, like a row of the SS6.5 on the outsides and one row of SS18 (4mm) in the middle, so for every two of the small ones you get exactly one larger one, this looks really nice too.

Yes of course you can do this on a western browband too, I've even done western earpieces the same way. Durability depends on the quality of the materials you use, specially the thread is important with this method. It must be strong and water/sweat repellent, that's why I like this clear (fishline) thread. So assuming you use good quality materials and take good care of it your browband can last for years, even with daily use!

I have one planned for beaded ears and browbands, well I actually already filmed that a while ago but accidentally deleted the files so plan on re-filming that one next week. But if there is anything specific you would like to see just let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Is there any chance you would have a 18" browband for sale? I need an oversize but none in the shop you have up are big enough haha

Where do I find the 2mm (SS6.5) on ebay?

So I made a brow band but the rhinestone chain I used wasn't as thick as the 3 rows you used, so you can see the clear thread up close. Anyway to hide that? If leather wasn't so hard to see I would sew on a brown fabric.
@HappyNightmaresHorsewear10 жыл бұрын
Angel Kreciak I am not completely sure what you mean. But this technique works best if the stones cover the browband from top to bottom, so take the width of the leather and divide it by the number of rows you like and than that's the size stone you will need. This way it will fit perfectly. The thread will always stay visible up close though but it should not be clearly visible when you stand next to the horse. That's also why I like to use clear thread instead of the same colour as the leather, the clear kind will reflect the light like the stones and the chain do so it blends in much better with the sparkle. If you want a border of the leather visible around the stones without seeing the thread at all sewing the rhinestone chain on is the best option but that's a lot of work that will need some tools as well.

Thank you for responding. Yeah I planned on making 3 rows but my leather wasn't thick enough, so I compromised to just to one, but now the thread shows.

If it's just one row and you don't mind the holes in your browband it's a little easier to sew them on. Just draw a line on the middle of the browband, prick holes onto that line with the distance of the stones, you can use a hammer and nail for this for example. And than you can just sew the chain on by hand.

Where can I get a browband like this one so I can make it?
@HappyNightmaresHorsewear10 жыл бұрын
I have them at my Etsy store, link is in the description but here is a current direct link to the listing: www.etsy.com/listing/153626999/flat-browband?ref=shop_home_active_6 You might also find them if you ask around if people still have them, they mostly come with bridles and people will often exchange them for a more flashy one. But I don't know if there are any other places that sell loose flat browbands like this, they seem to be a bit hard to find but you could try your local tack store, you never know what you might find!

I used to sell them in my shop but had to close down due to health problems. You can still custom order them through my website www.hnhorsewear.eu it just takes a little longer to complete orders right now. I'm also working on restarting this channel and one of the items on the list will be how to make browbases without any leatherworking skills or tools. But it can take a few months before everything is ready for the restart.
