DIY Rock Light Harness Build - KC Hilites Cyclones

I know this is several years late but, thank you for the in-depth video. I have been looking for weeks at install videos for various lights and nobody ever states what gauge wire they use or fully films the process of assembling the harness, except for you. As someone who lacks any and all knowledge on this topic but is trying to learn, you have my thanks.

Hey there Juliang.5901 thanks for checking out my video! Of course, I think a number of creators do not want to provide too great of detail for the case of any failures happening based on any content shared. I hope that I detailed out in my video where I obtain details on gauge of wire to use based on length and amperage and what I made is truly for reference based on my specific application. Like you said it has been a couple years since I made this video and I do not recall the details I went into 😅

Great video. I always had trouble trying to build a wiring harness for lights with relays, switches, fuses and resistors. I'd follow blog instructions but never got it to work. Having a single video cover it all is very helpful

Any problems running them with a single fuse compare to the one KC comes with? Which is each light running a separate fuse?

Hey there TheExia0, thanks for checking out my video! I have not had any issues with running the number of rock lights I am off a single fuse. Now the V2 lights do run higher amperage than the V1’s so as long as you calculate the amperage output of the harness and size a single fuse correctly you will not have issues.

I am running 9 cyclones for rock lights and they are on a 30 amp fuse. Each one is between .25-.55 amps so I’m total my circuit draws a max of 5 amps.
