Finally a easy full demonstration on how it's done!! Thankyou!! So many videos no explaining how to

Short,to the point,simple and well explained. I just watched a video on how to make the blind but no fixing instructions ,so thanks for this video. I'm now inspired as I have plenty of bamboo( living in rural Philippines) and loads of windows
@mauravolante2 жыл бұрын
I made a blind following your instructions for the pulley system and it works. I used a piece of paisley cotton (an old drape), some sheeting for the lining, and sticks from a bamboo blind that was falling apart. I sewed channels for the sticks. I love it! Thanks for posting your video. I knew it was possible but I needed to see where the screws and cord would go.

I had to use two bamboo mats together with zip ties as the first step, but followed your instructions almost the same. I decided to drill holes in the stick as the second step. It is going to work and I saved money by using the supplies I already had in my house. I added a karate kid banner too to the curtains, because it was a curtain for my grandson's room when I babysit him. Thanks!

Totally useful. I've been watching many videos on KZbin to get the right direction for making roll up blind window easily and friendly.. also cheap cost if possible. None of them satisfied me, they're unclear or even so complicated. Finally i got it here. I saved this video and then made it by my self successfully. It's looks nice. Thanks so much dude

You're an artist after my own heart. THat's just how I would have drawn the schematics. This was very helpful! I am considering making roll-up blinds using heavy 10-gauge clear vinyl shower curtains to make rain blinds for our screen porch. It gets some high winds and blowing rain.
@Amy892442 жыл бұрын
omg that's exactly what I'm planning to do and what brought me to this video XD
@BrassLock Жыл бұрын
Well its been quite a while now. . . How did it go? Did the winds rip your shower curtain blinds to shreds? Or did you rush out every adverse weather incident and roll them up out of harm's way?
@coconutfraser3851 Жыл бұрын
If you receive this? Hi Kimberley, I'm Albie from Down Under NZ. Knew nothing about this but wanted to clarify, I have a patio, and it gets both wind and rain on two sides, occasionally. Like you, I went out and bought a see-through, plastic-type awning. Quiet heavy.... Q: DID YOUR SYSTEM WORK with just the eyes, for the pulley? THX
@KimberleyB Жыл бұрын
@@coconutfraser3851 Hello, Albie! We ended up using Coolaroo shade blinds, which break up the rain before it gets to the screens. We just have a mist come in during heavy rains now, so we didn't put more money or energy into other solutions. :) We used waterproof fabrics on the bed and cushions, so the little bit of mist that gets in doesn't hurt anything.

Priceless!...thanks so much for you excellent instructions! I have to tackle creating two 4 foot blinds out of bamboo outdoor fencing material (available at HD) because the now government mandated No Cords rule is in effect (I completely understand the need for this change). But we have no pets or little ones around and find the new cordless roll-up style blinds much too cumbersome to manipulate. Love that you used cable ties and eyelets...some of my standard fixings for DIY! I’ve even figured out how to hang standard mini-blinds without using those nasty brackets....just screw eyelets into the window trim or header (we have crappy trim so I didn’t care if it got damaged)...loop a cable tie around the horizontal top post of the blind...feed it tie thru the eyelet and secure it...easy-peasy and done!

That's the same reason I'm here! We just bought a repo double wide and it's got 12 Windows in it some are 46" wide and I saw the prices on aluminum corded blinds and even spring loaded pull down blinds and my eyes bugged out! I'm like, WHERE in the world did all of the NORMAL blinds go??? I'll make my own before I spend a ton of money on something that too many people are complaining about! Unlike you, I don't understand the need for the change! Why can't parents adjust the length of the cord out of the way of the little ones so they can't reach them??? Too busy on their cell phones to pay attention?

@jackbridgewater13343 жыл бұрын
@@meghnasengupta2000 hi i got a role of fabric and cut it to the width of my window then i left an extra 20 cm on the length. I hemmed the edges and made a pouch at the big enough for a piece of garden cane to fit then sewed it together then i repeated this half way up the fabric and then a final time three quarters of the way up. At the top i stapled the fabric to a small peice of wood then attached it to my window frame. After that i did exactly the same as the vidio for the mechanism but were i put the extra two pockets i put a eyelet on each side of each pocket. Hope fully this was helpful 😁😁
