Not sure how I stumbled upon your channel, but its strange that I recently bought an XT and have done pretty much everything on the vehicle to get it back up to where it should be and this video is literally the last thing I'm doing on the vehicle. Your channel has a wealth of content 👍

I have a 2009 Forrester with similar rust issues in the same spots but not really bad. The passenger side rear door also has some rust coming through and needs to be fixed. I've owned this vehicle since new and it still has a lot of life left in it so I want to tackle the rust before it gets any worse. You did a great job. I have one suggestion. Before you use any primer, paint or clear coat, put the can in a bucket of warm water. Wrap a plastic baggie around the can and use an elastic to keep it tight. Put the can in a small bucket of warm water that covers the bottom half of the can and let it sit for about 5 minutes. You'll find that the spray will be finer and there's less chance of clogging the tip or getting paint drips. You'll also get more of the spray out of the can. Thanks for your video.

I'll keep that in mind.

Cool to see you making more content for the XT, had not seen anything for a while was curious how your rig has been doing with new engine and such? I’m so glad I’m in SoCal where there is zero rust issues! Keep the videos coming, enjoy seeing them… 😎👍🏻

Thank you so much. I have so much more I want to do but parts are getting harder to find and that 6 speed is still out of my reach.

Looks pretty good. I'd recommend if anyone else does this at home to wear a respirator. That 2k clear coat is some nasty stuff.

Yes, I should have worn a respirator and covered my arms too.

The upside is that subframes are easier to replace.

What are your compressor specs for the tools? 200l/min work pressure? Or more?

It's an old 50 gal Campbell Hausfield 1hp single piston compressor. I'm not sure the rating on it.
