DIY Rustic Flocked Pinecone Christmas Ornaments

Learn in just a few easy steps how to make these cute Rustic Flocked Pinecone Christmas Ornaments. Your Christmas tree will have a lovely yet rustic touch. The best part is that this craft is so incredibly easy that you can enjoy it with your kids! Hope you like it!
Supplies:
Pinecones {as many as you like}
White acrylic paint
White glue
White and silver glitter
Twine
Burlap or linen ribbon {color of your choice}
Jingle bells {2 per bow}
Needle and thread.
Hot glue gun
2 bowls {big enough for the pinecones to fit}
Paper towels.

I enjoyed this tutorial because I have never achieved a pretty bow. I’ll try this technique. Instead of white paint & white glue, I hand-painted each pine cone scale with artificial snow that comes in a jar. Time consuming but cathartic.

Hi Cami, any ideas of how I can embellish the pine cone without the snow? I live in deep South Texas. We don't get snow. We do have pine trees. Glitter alone on the pine cone looks too flashy. I'm not a Crafter by nature, so I'm struggling with this concept, however, these will be great for the upcoming Church Craft Fair. Pat-South Padre Island, Texas

To be completely honest, I've never lived in a snowy place. I made it like that because it looks so pretty in white and my Christmas tree theme was rustic White. Another Idea I can think of right off the bat is just painting the tips with any other color. For example, let's say your theme with be Pretty in Pink Christmas decor. You can mix red (or dark pink) acrylic paint with white glue and then just like I did with the white paint, dip the tips of the pinecone and then let it try. Adding or not extra pink glitter is totally optional. You can also use a brush and paint the tips of the pinecone and even if you dare LOL, you can actually deep half pinecone in the paint so you get half natural and half painted. These ideas actually might be great for the coming Christmas so I have to thank you for your comment and question! Another Video might come soon enough LOL. Hope this helps you. Puede ser que cada barrita sea diferente. Los mios los acabo de sacar este año y estan perfectos no se ha caido ni los lazos ni los colgantes. De hecho, queria cambiar los lacitos de yute por cuadritos y me ha tocado darle la vuelta y pegarselos del otro lado jaja. Has un intento cambiando la marca de la barrita o usa pegamento de contacto. Hi Dorothy, thank you for stopping by. If you take a look at the video exactly at second 0:20 and second 0.23 you will be able to see a caption that says mix of white paint and white glue at 50-50 proportion and white and silver glitter 60-40 proportion. Hope this helps clarify! 😉

Eventually yes, glitter always slowly falls off over time no matter the glue but since you are mixing half-half glue and paint, it will last for a long time if the glue is good. It's been years since I made mine and I used them last Christmas and probably will use them the next one LOL. Hope this helps!
