I keep thinking “wow, she really loves that burnt orange colour, maybe it’s a bit much?” But then I looked around my house and wardrobe and realised I have a serious problem with blue, so no, definitely not too much haha It really suits you, it’s a lovely colour on you!

The lampshade is a great idea. Please be careful though with the electrical fittings that all is well insulated and that the wicker around the bulb doesn't overheat!

I've made a pillowcase! Will finish the second one tomorrow, but this one is on the bed. It's so much easier seeing you do it and explaining as you go. Pin cushion next, then a skirt or two. This was the kickstart I needed, thanks!

Thank you so much for the pillowcases idea! We haven't used a flat sheet in years using a duvet instead. I save them because I can't throw anything away. There are four pillows on the bed so I always have to buy extra cases. NO MORE! lol. I will make matching pillowcases from the flat sheet. You are a pleasure to watch. Thank you for the great ideas.

Rookie question about the pillowcases...should the length or width of the pillowcase be cut on the grain? I’m guessing the width, so if you bought 2 metres of linen you’d be able to get two pillowcases out of it.

Wow, this is so different from other videos! And I'm not mad about it because I gorge on DIY tutorials every single day :) All three projects look great. That macrame tutorial reminded me of my time in scouts and how I completely sucked at tying knots, so I think I'll pass on that one :D A little feedback re: the pillowcases - I understand that you made those having standard pillow dimensions in mind, but if you want to reach an international audience then keep in mind that pillow sizes vary across different countries (e.g. in UK&Ireland we have pillows similar to yours, but continental Europe seems to go for square shaped pillows), so it would be great to give a bit of insight into how you have come to these particular dimensions of cut fabric.

Great video again Janelle, you have the largest pin cushion I’ve seen 😂😂 I’m definitely going to make some of the pillowcases and I may sew a small embroidery stitch in the corner on my machine. Your macrame skills are amazing, in fact I thought you could make a shoulder bag using your skills, a very 70s vibe...love from England 🧵💕

Hi Janelle, the lampshade idea is great. Just an idea, I think spray painting the basket would bring it to a higher level..so cheap from Bunnings. Must try this.

@RoseryApparel4 жыл бұрын
That’s so good to hear! The way the lightbulb screws in makes it far enough away from the basket to not be a problem. It would depend on the basket/lightbulb though, so definitely something to keep in mind!

The ones used for the pillowcases are from Spotlight (a fabric store here in Australia) and that’s where I get most of my fabrics, plus second hand from op-shops as well 😊
