DIY Sap evaporator auto draw

DIY maple sap evaporator auto draw system. This is the second more refined version that has many improvements over the original unit. A temperature probe controlled valve that automatically opens and closes to your set point. Set point is determined daily by checking your syrup with hydrometer. Once set the controller watches your syrup so you are free to stoke the fire or check your trees.

I did a motorized ball valve on mine. I had issues with the diaphragms on those solenoid valves. niter seems to be a issue with sealing some times.

I am having trouble tuning the Inkbird 106 to open and close quickly at set temp. Are you using it in PID mode or ON OFF? Would you be willing to share your settings? I'm having trouble finding much information about this unit. Thank you in advance. -Adam

I use the types of controllers on my projects (diy chicken scalder & diy incubator) and one thing that I have learned is you need to set the controller to auto calibrate. There are some videos here on YT that go over how to do that. I’d recommend looking for those. They weren’t very impressive until I figured out how to get them to auto calibrate. Hope that helps someone.
