I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the series. I really love that you are making it all out of recycled material.

Glad to hear it! I decided to try to make the whole thing from scrap as I already found some old guttering thrown out and some used bitumen roofing sheets last year so I practically have everything I need. Also....wood is expensive!

Great timing. I have just started building a potting shed. It will be about the same size as yours and like you I am trying to build it from reclaimed materials. I have built my base, but I am not 100% sure on the next step. There are plenty of shed builds on KZbin but most have used materials that were specifically bought for the job. As you know, reusing reclaimed materials can raise a number of issues. So I have decided to sit tight and wait for your next steps before continuing. Cheers Steve.

When's the next videos coming out! This is exactly what I want to build. A small shed/office. I live in the city and don't have much outdoor room but I need an office outside of my house since I work from home. Awesome work!

Pressure washing salvaged timber is reasonably effective - it might tear up the grain and need sanding, well it can make wood swell and appear to have a very diffferent texture, but for some jobs like this, it wouldn't make any difference. It's probably better to get the green algae like growth off it before applying the wood preserver. You might want to think about some 'shed risers' that help keep it off the ground and avoid contact with water for a long period. I used some that I found on eBay that are discontinued - you screw in a screw with a 10mm plastic spacer to keep the shed off the ground. Bricks are absolutely fine as well and more common to use to create space for any water to flow through or if it collects, it doesn't do as much damage. 100 15mm spacers that you could screw in the base would cost around £6.

Thanks for the ideas. I did think about washing off the algae although I was pushed for time I really wanted to get it done quite quickly. The stain I used soaked into the wood well as I thinned it down with some white spirit so hopefully it will all be fine. I know what spacers your referring to which could be a good option. My dad has some old bricks I think so I may end up using bricks for the foundation. I'll see what else I've got lying around. 👍

nice informative video may i ask when the base goes down will you do it in such a way to allow airflow under the shed ....im looking foreward to this project 👍👍

Cheers! Yes I plan on sitting it on some kind of blocks to raise it off the ground slightly.
