Thanks for the video! I have a small 8 foot trailer and was going to flex seal my whole roof 😂

You’re welcome. This roof is still holding strong today and even still has great color. Not faded out
@wm0052 жыл бұрын
I used a heat gun to soften the sealant and a puddy knife. I also used Acetone which also softened up the sealant, then used a drill with scouring pads attached. Whipped down with Denatured Alcohol before applying the Eternal Bond Tape. Still working on my roof, have a bit more to go. You have to make sure to remove any silicone completely because the tape will not stay stuck. I seen that on another video. You also need to use a roller over the tape which help with the bonding of the tape.

Awesome. Good to know. I have finished mine and everything did perfect except I just had a limb fall on the roof so now I have to redo it again. But otherwise everything was perfect after I did this video for a while

Thanks for great video. Now that you are 8 months later, does the seal hold up and no leaks?
@flemingfamilyracing2 жыл бұрын
Yes it does. No leaks with the roof whatsoever. Holding strong and very pleased with the application durability. We have had a few pine cones and limbs fall on top of the roof that caused some holes to puncture the metal but they have been fixed. Other than that zero issues with the actual coating itself

I show the bucket in the video. I bought it from Lowe’s. It’s the membrane that rolls on the top. It has held up perfect and held the white color

Did it take the entire 5 gallons? Your video has saved us from getting a new roof for the trailer. Awesome job and thanks for the info.
@flemingfamilyracing2 жыл бұрын
No it did not. It took a little over a half. If you don’t have any need to save that much I would suggest putting a few more extra coats. Just to really get a good hard roof. Thank you. Just glad to help someone out.

Did the coating stick to the tape and could the tape just been left off
@flemingfamilyracing9 ай бұрын
Yes the tape is made for this material to roll over. I would highly recommend the tape because it acts as a sealer for all of the joints/seams. I would not roll it on without the tape

@@flemingfamilyracing thanks i live in maine am doing my roof in the spring with the tape and coating
@flemingfamilyracing2 жыл бұрын
Awesome. We have no complaints with the product. Has worked great for us. The more coats the better. It will seem to roll on very thin so we suggest putting it on thick because you will have a lot left over if you just treat it like paint. Don’t be scared to get it on the trailer.
@youknoweverything76432 жыл бұрын
That is a nice trailer man. Every enclosed we have owned had same issues leaking after a few years. I have a 2006 tornado beautiful trailer mirror cabinet doors all finished interior with carpet floor and diond plate chrome runners on each side and spotter stand up top and I completely rebuilt it 5 years ago cuse it was leaking and need the work and now the spots I didn't seal are starting to leak cuse when I was doing it it didn't need any work in those spots lol. Oh for that putty use a heat gun to get it off. And yes that bit on trailers suck for real
@flemingfamilyracing2 жыл бұрын
It will be really nice when we are done with it. Got to get it ready for the season

@@flemingfamilyracing heck yeah man it's going to be nice I just wish they would use like a Philips head screw or even a flat head screw instead of torque screws are these special pattern screws but it is what it is
@flemingfamilyracing2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir it’s called a double square. I had to order some but I have replaced all mine with Philips
@youknoweverything76432 жыл бұрын
@@flemingfamilyracing yea I know I don't understand why any type of manufacturer that makes anything uses stupid specialty screws like that. My brand new 2021 RV I wanted to mount a bigger TV in it and the one that it came with is bolted in with special lock bolts that only the dealership has the keyed socket to take it off. They do it hoping the average Joe doesn't know what the bit type is or socket or anything is so that way you bring it into the dealer to have them fix it but those double square screws are used cuse when they get corroded it hase more points so it doesn't strip out where you can't remove it like a Phillips will and you can torque it tighter as well. Is what dealer told me when I asked why they used those screws on my rv
@flemingfamilyracing2 жыл бұрын
Man a 2021 is nice I bet. They do it to get you to come in to them

@flemingfamilyracing2 жыл бұрын
They had it at our local lowes. May have to order it if they store doesn’t have it
@jeffjackson93852 жыл бұрын
I was blown away at how expensive the tape is, but I’d rather make sure it’s done right and looks as good as yours. I’m looking at a 6x12, do you think the smaller 3.6 qts works be enough to do do coats on the roof? Thanks for the informative video! Btw, you’re a brave man for walking on that shoddy roof🤪
@flemingfamilyracing2 жыл бұрын
I know wasn’t the greatest idea but I had to make sure to stay on the metal cross beams. And yes the tape was high but we’ll worth it. And yes for this entire trailer I still had half of the 5 gallons left. Even enough to do my RV.
