DIY | Seat Belt Cover • easy step by step tutorial • Sami Dolls Tutorials

In this video I am showing step by step how I am making a seat belt cover. I used to get really painful red marks from the seat belt on my neck and now I won't have to worry about this any longer.
I've used this Kaffe Fasset fabric: tinyurl.com/ju...,
as well as some simple pink fabric: tinyurl.com/3v...,
for batting this will be good: tinyurl.com/22...
and for the closure I used some velcro: tinyurl.com/27...
Materials needed:
6.5" x 10" main fabric
6.5" x 10" lining fabric
6.5" x 10" batting
8.5" velcro

I didn't know that you could put a piece of fabric down to help the foot grip! Total game changer for those pesky corners!

I use it a lot. Especially when you start sewing thick fabric or approaching a thick seam. The stitch stays more uniform.

Thanks for the great tutorial. I just made two - one for each of my grandchildren so they’re more comfy on longer journeys. By the way, I discovered that your pattern is completely reversible - it can be put onto the seat belt with the ‘lining’ on the outside. So you can use an attractive fabric for the lining as an alternative top side!

Thank you so much, I watched this on mute while bub slept nearby. I'm going to watch this again with audio but even without hearing I could see how simple this is to do. I think you have a gift for simplicity and that is what makes this tutorial so good ❤ EDIT: I'm going to use this to make a belly bar cover for my pram so bub doesn't leave chew marks when he gets teeth. If you happen to have a video on sewing a pram liner and strap covers that would also be amazing haha.

What keeps this in place? Wouldn’t it slide on the seat belt?

Hi Sharon, the velcro makes it adjustable, it is nice and tight wherever you place it. But you cold always come up with another way to attach it that suits you better :)

Thank you. I know your primary audience is women, but I want to make a seatbelt cover for a different purpose: to prepare for a hopeful job as a mechanic as one element of keeping my car clean when I go home for the day. This'll shield my seatbelt from my beard if I happen to get car grime in my beard during the workday.
