Thanks Scott. Many commenters have thanked you for “not editing out your mistakes”. I suspect they don’t really mean it that way as I don’t see them as mistakes. I see it as you are showing us the entire discovery process. That you have to do something to find out that maybe it doesn’t work. And you file that away and become stronger. It’s like any muscle, you have to tear the fibers to make ‘em grow. 😊. Thank YOU for sharing the whole journey.

Excellent tip on the box bending, first brake I made was fine, 2nd with larger width, I hit the same issue as you with the flexing, the bends are not crisp 90°, but I decided that is useful for some projects, so I left it and now pretend I meant to make it like that. I was going to use "Bristol " locking levers to clamp down but never bothered, but might be worth looking at for any blokes out there thinking of making a sheet bender.

Nice job mate, I wouldn't paint where the job will make contact with the bender, the paint will chip off over time when bending heavy gauge, then when you bend light gauge it will leave marks on the job where it sits on the edge of the paint. Either chemical blacken these parts or give a coat of lanolin grease and wipe off, either way will prevent rust. At an old job we also had a bender with a half inch round bar to bend around, it made beautiful radius bends that might be more suited to the decorative work you do, rather then the sharpish corners. You know how to build it now, so it won't take long to make a second one, you will love the bends it will make. Keep up the good work mate.

Love your work bro! Only thing I'd like to have seen you make on this one is handles for the height adjustment rather than needing to use a spanner. Maybe some tubing welded to the nut and a simple bar fitted through opposite holes at the top, make it quick to use and long enough for leverage? Just a thought, keep up the great work.

Thank you! I might yet do that but sometimes the handle can get in the way of the bend. Cheers!

Thanks for the response, really appreciate that. Just to add, the lever bar would have stops on each end and would be free to slide back n forth, to avoid it being in the way.... Aaaaanyway, I have also seen your update video to this one, love the new machined spanners, as always, top work 👌👍🏼

Ah yes I see what you mean. That would work. Cheers!

Nicly done! 1 though instead of angle for the bender box tube might work better to eliminate the torsion issue. Cheeres

Cool! I will be modifying mine soon with wind in/ out ability for the clamping bar. Also I removed the paint from all contact faces but other than that it works a treat and it's simple. Thank you!

Really love your work. I want to start my own youtube, a jib a week kind if thing, similar yo what your doing. But i lack the confidence to film myself working.... thanks for the inspiration....

Yes do it! You'll build your confidence along the way but you have to make a start before you "think" you are ready. You are already making stuff!

instead of a piece of wood you can have a slotted (for hight adjustment) flat bar bolted to the top angle iron with a 45 degree bevel at bottom (bend point) held by angle cleats welded to far side (of top angle) with holes for bolts thx for the video
