okay you ask. We bought an old 1800's schoolhouse,28'X28" that had been made into a house in the 1940's. This is what they call a box frame house. No stud walls, plank only. My Rib and I lowered the ceiling on the back half of the house, the kitchen, bath, laundry room below with now our bedroom(loft) above. We have put in 2x6 studs in the walls and removed all interior walls, except the bathroom. We have 6" insulation,5/8 ths sheetrock. The windows and doors are to be our last project, but because of the loft,we are putting a exterior pocket door on the back door. The living room is awesome we have left the ceiling open to give a feeling of a larger area. Thank goodness the wiring and plumbing are fairly simple but heavy duty. The outside is as it was when we bought it and you are just shocked when you come inside. The house is really a simple plan and the 28x28 ft makes for easy working.when finished the loft will add roughly 390 ' to the 748 sq.ft. house. We bought the house on 1/4 acre, with a metal shop, water well, pecan, fruit trees and planted some of our own,for $8,000.00. We are doing the work ourselves and hope to be out of the travel trailer and in the house by the end of this year. A real learning experience for sure;). Thanks for asking:).

Thanks gals, i'm 70 and new to woodworking, this was a great video. I'm glad to see young women putting on their big girl panties, and doing things like this on their own. My guy the love of my live 50+ years, freaks when i suggest a simple project like putting up a shelf. I learned to do these things myself, and i'm glad i did. I probably would use some glue and screws to hold the shelves better, but this can be added if you notice the shelves aren't sturdy. That's how you learn to do this stuff, do it the best you can and learn from your mistakes. Good luck

I was commenting that I would never sand in the house due to the dust. There is no reason you could not sand the boards outside. Saws and sanders should stay outside to reduce mess.

The saw is way too heavy for kickback? Have you any idea what kickback is? When she's talking about nailgun accidents she's crouched facing the girl using the nailgun 2 feet away with no eye protection. This is a MUST for beginners to see how not to do it.

I once built a dog house out of Aspen Board and never bothered to give it a coat of paint. Five years later I passed the dog house on to another dog lover as I no longer had a dog. I don't know how long it lasted after that point or if they painted it, but Aspen Board is pretty durable. 1:13

Very cool ! I am going to be making one or more with live edges/ends so will need to plan a angled cut to hide it but this should still work . If someone wants to hold more weight they can use cobra toggle anchors, I use them at work to hold 72 inch TVs in 5/8 drywall 1:56

Nice looking shelves! For anyone that's going to build with wood, I highly recommend eye protection and at the least a particle mask when sanding, I have to use a resperator, the dust really messes with my sinuses and lungs, but I also have cancer. Again, great job ladies!!! BE SAFE GOD BLESS!🇺🇲🙏❤

Sanding the wood outside before assembly would be better for your health and air quality in the home. Also the a cabinet grade plywood without the huge knots would class it up a bit. The more expensive ply would add about $10-15 per sheet.

Sorry about all the negative comments. Would I have done things different? Yes. Did it come out looking nice? Yes. Are you happy with the work you did yourself? Yes. Did you get expensive particle board furnature (Ikea)? No. I for one am no where near the craftsman of others on KZbin but I love to show that you don't have to be a pro to turn out nice stuff. I also like watching KZbin videos that have some entertainment as well. I say keep creating videos and projects however you want. That's what I'm going to do.
