DIY SHOE RACK with WASTE PAPER - How to Make a Paper Shoe Rack - diy shoe storage - shoe holder - shoe organizer - shoe stand
Hello, in this video, I made a shoe rack from old school books for my own needs and taste. If you like it, you can make bigger or smaller shoe racks with this technique. Do not doubt it's durability. It carries your shoes very easily. It is not suitable to use as a bookshelf. As long as you don't apply much force nothing will happen, you will use it for a long time.
Materials I used:
. Waste paper (old school books)
. pva glue
. 6 mm skewer
. 5 mm wooden stick (for joining paper tubes)
. Acrylic paint
. Water-based varnish (So you can wipe it with a wet cloth)

That was the craziest, coolest, and most creative diy I've seen in a long time! I've made beads from rolled paper, but never made an entire piece of furniture that way. The finished product looks amazing. No one would believe it's made from paper and skewers. Subbed and liked.

This is brilliant ! It gives so much scope for making bigger items that are strong enough and sturdy enough for general use. Do you think you could design an make a hanging wall cabinet with doors for displaying models or figures etc. ? Or, could you create a floor cabinet with doors that goes under the sink basin for hiding toilet rolls or towels, and toilet cleaning chemicals please ? I love your channel, its just so practical and the items you create are very useful and actually look good as well. Thanks for sharing your skills with us.

i think ambijent moisture would be a problem since it is paper. the glue is also water soluble. besides that, i don't see why not.

They are adding a waterproof varnish at the end to prevent damage from excess moisture or humidity. So long as the waterproof is applied generously and is checked regularly, there should not be any issues using these in areas such as bathrooms or kitchens. You could also apply an antimould on it over the waterproof level.

The only concern I would have is weight tolerance. Joints could be reinforced through other means and rods inserted into the paper sticks for extra security in case of applying heavier items, but it would be more reasonable to use stronger materials instead.

​@@jax4652 if it is just paper towels and bottles of cleaning fluid, it is strong enough. If it's something heavier, then the sides need to be made of more tubes and the horizontal boards can be made of multi layer-ed cardboard. Is it worth the effort? IDK My laptop + monitor stand is a wooden board resting over 2 paper-tube pillars. The paper tubes are 8 layers wide and 20 layers long. It can support ME as I tested it by sitting on it.
