It was a great idea. I've done this same thing. The problem is accessing the stuff in the middle of the lower part of the drawer. It's a pain to having to keep lifting the tray out to get at it. One of the solutions I found that was more convenient is a bit more expensive as it requires an additional set of drawer slides. Instead of a tray, it's a drawer that opens into the rear slot you cut open in the back of your drawer. So when you need full access to the lower level, you just push the drawer back into the drawer box and out of the way.

@@PawPawsWorkShop but be aware. I did one drawer with two of those trays and the drawer got heavy to even pull it open!

Thanks for sharing your drawers, I’ve done something similar only shadow boxed my tools with yoga mat and EVA mat that looks like deck plate.

Subscibed in the first 5 seconds of starting your video. Someone with badges of our military branches and the thin blue line is a good person!

Tip... these works great with full extension or over-travel drawer slides. If you have 3/4 slides, you may want to make the top sliding divider perhaps 1/3rd, not 1/2, the depth of the bottom divider... so you can sill get to the bottom back and not have to lift out the upper to do so each time. ;)

As a video for "Beginner Series", I think it would be good to show safety by using an outfeed table on the table saw instead of reaching over the blade to get the cut piece while the blade is still moving. Obviously, you have experience.....but demonstrating it for beginners should be done safely. Overall, this is an easy to follow guide for the drawers inserts.

Access to the middle bottom tray is not so good May if you built the top one with 6 tays and another separate one with 3 trays than you could get all access to the middle one
