Hello and thanks for watching.
Five-decade slide rosary or fidget rosary. This rosary is perfect
for anyone who would like to move the beads along as they pray. It keeps your place if you're interrupted as you create a gap with each bead that you move.

Allow about 1.5-2 hours for your first try.
The first thing I do is use the lighter to gently melt the end of the cord. When it’s soft you can roll it between
your fingers to bring it to a nice point for threading through beads. It’s easy to burn yourself doing this, so a
little caution here.
Now measure out about two and a half times your arm span, or around 13 feet of cord, cut it, and carefully melt
the other end.
Thread both ends through one of the top eyelets on your centerpiece. Pull through about 6 inches, or the
length of your hand.
Grab the blue stick with the narrow end pointing away from you, and place the centerpiece flat against it with
the long ends of the cord resting in the groove. Holding the short ends in your dominant hand, start winding
them around the stick, toward the hand holding the stick. Make two neat wraps. Don’t let the loops cross each
other.
Thread the two short ends through the center of the stick, leading away from you. This can be a slow process
at first as you learn to make neat passes, but it’s really important to get your knots to lay smoothly. When you
remove the stick, you can roll and shift the knot to gradually tighten it. Make sure the knot is neat and very
secure.
Cut your loose ends and carefully secure the knot with your lighter. Don’t let the part of the cord that you want
to keep get near the flame.
Find the middle point of the far end of the cord and cut it. Secure your ends with the lighter.
Pick up a single strand and string ten glass beads.
Pick up the other strand and start weaving your ladder by going backwards through each bead. Try to keep
your beads straight and the cord even on each side. Adjust the cord until you’re sure your row is even and
straight, then pick the loose cords at the end to hold a space before you tie the next knot.
Run the line of beads along the stick with the loose ends pointing toward the narrow opening, then wrap the
strands together around the stick, back toward the holding hand. Make two wraps, then thread the ends
through the stick so they come out the narrow end. Constantly adjust the cord as you pull it
through so all your wraps lay neatly side-by-side. As you remove the stick you can pinch the knot to hold everything in place, then gently roll it so it snugs up. Make sure your row is still straight and
even before you really tighten it.
Pick up a large-hole pearl and pass both strands of the cord through.
Tie the same knot on the other side, as close to the pearl as you can.
Do the next four decades exactly like the first one. String ten beads, weave the second cord through them to
make a ladder. Always be checking for symmetry, neat cords, and straight rows. Leave some space and tie a
knot. Make sure the decades are exactly the same length from knot to knot. String a pearl. Tie a knot.
When you've completed five decades, you’ll take the two loose ends and pass them both through the other eyelet at the top of the centerpiece.
Adjust the loop so it doesn’t twist at all. Make sure your fifth decade will be the same length as all the other
decades from knot to knot. When you’re satisfied that it’s neat, consistent, straight . . . go ahead and tie that
knot. This one will feel backwards. You’ll fold the cords over the eye of that medal so they’re pointing back
toward the beads, then tie the knot with the loose ends running away from the centerpiece.
For the bottom part leading to the crucifix, use the two pieces of cord that you just snipped off. Thread them
both through the bottom eyelet of the centerpiece and tie the same knot as the last one.
Thread one pearl through both cords and tie a knot. Then make a ladder with just three beads. Leave a space
and tie a knot. Use the last pearl here. Don’t tie a knot yet. Add your crucifix first. Arrange the cross so it’s
facing the same way as the centerpiece, then tie your knot the same way you tied onto the centerpiece. The
loose ends will come out toward the pearl. Make sure it’s straight and neat, then pull it really tightly and neatly
finish it off. You made it!

Sarah, did you invent this style of Rosary? ❤ I love it! It is excellent for people who may get distracted while praying the Rosary. It allows you to stop and then pick up where you left off without any trouble of trying to remember it. I am very impressed. Thank you for sharing this on KZbin. 😊

I didn't invent it, but I did play around with the knots, spacing, and different types of beads and cord to find my style. :) This is what I've settled on and it's my favorite type of rosary! Thanks for your comment. ❤️
