I have long wanted a dedicated home theater space in my home. I was never sure if it would work in a small 12' x 12' spare bedroom, but after some research I decided to move forward with this project. I tried as much as I could to keep it cost effective by building it myself. The OLED and SVS subs were the two things I didn't want to compromise on and made up 95% of the cost. I'm using an affordable Onkyo 5.2.4 reciever and LCR I've had for years. The subs and the acoustic panels made all the difference. There is no echo or reverb and every channel sounds crystal clear.

I LOVE the cloud ceiling and the secret door entrance to the extra little hallway. I also love that you have put a lot of extra effort into absorbing sound to prevent bouncing of sound. The video was for most part muted but the images speak for themselves. The only concern I have is how flame-able are the clouds. If they burn really well you are in a few seconds death trap while laying under it. Please check that. What happens when they should catch fire? very flammable and drip/drop is the worst case scenario. Other then that I LOVE wat you created. Thank you for the video

Really well done, curious why you put panels behind the TV? Also, I would advise going with normal speakers for your heights, not in ceiling...much better sound (and worth the extra spend for quality)....just leave the old speakers in the ceiling and repurpose the cables if you can, avoid patching the sheetrock. lol

Btw you might want to try turning off the centre channel and see if it sounds better. Having a center inside of a shelf like that might make the sound worse than just using those fronts as a phantom centre.

Love your Room!!!!! I'm following this project. I'm in the early research phase of my dedicated HT in what was my home office in a spare room. It's 13 x10 x 9, so that's a challenge. Some of our gear specs are spot on. I'll be looking at the LG 77" Class B2 OLED and I switched from SVS PB - 1000 Pro to dual HSU VTF-2 MK5. My current SVS is too large for the build-out so it has to go. Like you i'll be using my current Pioneer Elite 9 channel AVR. As crazy as it is for a 10 x 13, I wanted to run 7.2.2. What are your thoughts? The sides would be mounted on wall and the rears are towers. I'm considering Valencia Tuscany seating, but they eat up a lot of space and are pricey. As for room treatment. I currently have acoustic foam and wanted to install curtains around the room to kill sound reflection, this way I wouldn't have to paint.
@TheBluuHouse
@TheBluuHouse Жыл бұрын
May I ask what TV stand you went with or did you wall mount the TV? Also, I really like the LED over the crown molding, I may do that, Can you share how you ran that into your electrical grid and what you use to control them? Thanks

Highly recommend building good room treatments. That was the single best improvement in sound quality with it being such a small room. Sounds are very localized, there’s no echoing and the bass is very crisp, not boomy. The more channels the better for sure.

How did you come up with the ☁️☁️ ceiling idea? Since there was no audio which is cool did you have a method as to how you laid out the LED lights or was that random? Which lights did you buy because I've never seen LED lights with that lighting effect. Also, what type of material did you use for the clouds? 2nd video of yours that I've watched and your batting a 100. You're killin' it. If you can let me know that be great but no pressure. I'm guessing you are from SFL because of the green garbage bin. I'm from MDC, Palmetto Bay.

Fantastic results, and awesome projects, but I must be getting old as I find myself distracted by concern for the safety of the "kid" in the video. And by "kid", I mean the grown-up kid-- the one wearing open-toed sandals instead of steel-toed boots while moving heavy things around, the one working on his knees without knee pads, the one who hasn't yet gotten himself a decent work table to save his back, and especially the one using a Sawzall and nail gun without eye protection.... Please do give these things some thought *before* life teaches you any related lessons through personal experience. Consider, too that we humans will *always* take more risks as teenagers than our parents have demonstrated to us by example.... Peace!

@@Beau_Builds it’s legit cool and wholesome my household was wayyyyy fucking worse bro dad was strict as hell spazzing everyday then in my teen years he was hooked on coke then my mom died and he brought some new chick in to do coke with then after that we got evicted and me and my brothers were sent to different places with family shit sucks and I literally never wanted a family because I legit hate having a wife and kids it’s just weird but watching this single video made me think like “well shit that actually looks kinda cool” and I’m the type of guy that likes seeing kids faces light up like when i randomly take my little siblings to the arcade or to Olive Garden your the goat man

What can one say for those who do the work themselves. Never mind a better sense of appreciation, the workmanship is second to none, I truly applaud you. Being in the trade myself and, of course, being an avid music and somewhat movie listener, you've done a fabulous job. Got to give it to you, the room looks amazing. However, now that the novelty has worn off, how does the really sound? Forget about false economy cables, which heightens the noise floor. Acoustically speaking, how does the room sound? In my experience, too much absorption can actually stifle the sound stage. I, too, also have a small room, and for my ears and within my room rather than absorption, diffusion seems to be a better option. Diffusion gives the perception of a larger listening environment, which for small rooms is ideal. Funny enough, I just actually shot a short video... if interested.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWWccplqbtClg8Usi=4Zte29QMPC07-G-0 Please don't take it to heart. You've done a fabulous job. I'm just a nit-picker (Yeah I know I'm sad)

I watched your video. Nice setup. I would definitely recommend acoustic treatments. They made all the difference in my room. Especially because of how small it is. Bass used to give me a headache, now it’s crisp and clean. I love how much more sound is localized and punchy
