Thanks for your video. I am working on a DIY weather station based on homemade instruments, ESP32, ESP-HOME, HA. The issue that you discussed about batching readings and only connecting to the MQTT to upload multiple readings in order to conserve battery life is something that has been on my mind. Will look forward to updates on your future explorations and findings.

I'm rigging one of these on a vehicle, so this was fairly helpful of a review. But, to be honest... at the beginning, I thought you were totally going to say ".... whoooo0o0o0oa duuuude". :-)

So i have the sensor but dont have a controller for it. Looks like i might as well write my own with ESPhome and the new Wifi6 esp.

I think this is the same set of sensors offered in the US through Sparkfun, though I haven't seen PiMoroni's RP2040 uC setup for it prior to this video. How was the wind data itself? Do the data packets just consist of one instantaneous measurement, or do you get an average? Did you look at a local weather service to compare with the wind speeds you were reading for accuracy?

Is the RP running bare metal microPython? It looks like it from your screenshots...

Yep, their firmware is open source - github.com/pimoroni/enviro - I've just added HASS Discovery!
