my mom taught me this trick when i was around 13, but we did really use it for smudging, more like to make sucky kohl eyeliner that didnt work that well and took alot of pressure to use. so we would heat it so it was blacker and would apply easier. we also heated it up a little longer and a didnt wait as long to apply it :) idk i really like this trick and i think it works

You don't have to let it cool as long as 15 secs and try blowing of it when it is cooling. About 7-10 secs is all you need. And sometimes a little reshapping is required before applying.

They shud have heated it for 2 seconds n let is cool for 9 seconds! 15 seconds was enough for that eye pencil to cool completely! 😐

I've done this before and it has given me amazing results. If you do it like mahogany for just like less than a second, just sticking it in, you don't have to wait at all. I've done it before with the whole second, and did it right away, and it was just warm. Didnt phase me. You should only wait if it looks like it could drip.

*****I HAVE TWO MYTHS: Can you try to bust the cooking spray on your nails myth? You paint your nails and then spray them with cooking spray and they are supposed to dry instantly? I doubt it. Or can you try the wet nails in ice water for a few minutes. It's supposed to completely dry your nails and remove any mistakes on your skin. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!

ive tried the cold water method and it worked but i wouldnt suggest cooking spray since that might be flammable or idk

I do this a lot to get it to smudge and spread! It helps to not wait 15 seconds for it to cool off. I hold it in the flame for like 1.5 seconds and then I will use it 4 seconds later... :)

If you blow on it, you can get the bacterial from your mouth to the pencil and to your eye. Give it a little wave after you take it out from the flame. Then check it prior to applying

For the eyeliner pencils to come out darker after the flame it probably varies with types of pencils. The red Maybeline eyeliner pencils are always extremely dull and hardly go on but after holding it above a flame for a bit the color is very intense. On the other hand, my Rimmel mascara goes on nicely so I never even had to try to hold a flame to it. I guess this would work if a pencil is dull to begin with.

when your eyeliner is had to put on or its really light or something like that like when you first get it or when you sharpen it you do this and it makes it easier and darker like its supposed to be. you're supposed to do it as soon as you get the pencil

I learned this technique from my big sister and her color guard squad when i was little. They did it before every show because it was important for their makeup to be prominent so it could be seen really well from the stands. I always liked doing it and never personally had any issues with it. I learned a couple trial and errors and then i discovered liquid liner! I would still use this technique if I had a pencil liner.

I do this all the time because the eyeliner I have is really stiff and actually makes my lid sore when I try to put it on. I saw this on pinterest and tried it but the only thing I did different is instead of a lighter (because I don't have one) I put my pencil in between the two sides of my straightener with the heat turned all the way up and then let it cool for a minute. Works like a charm. Also, you might want to sharpen your eyeliner before putting it over the heat.

If you want really bold eyelashes, I recommend using 2 different mascaras. One volumizing and one thickening mascara. And liquid eyeliner is more for a defined line vs a pencil which can he used for more of a Smokey eye effect.

Liquid liner definitely way easy and any Maybelline mascara is good but I also use Revlon grow luscious plumping mascara and voluminous millions lashes. It also works to curl then layer all the mascaras the curl again. It gives false lash affect and works great. I'm constantly asked if my lashes are fake

My sister uses this trick all the time, like before she even saw this. Just heat it for 1-2 seconds. I depends but it'll get a glossy look. Then blow on it to cool it down and use it. We only wait about 5 seconds. And it really works and makes it darker and gives it a softer look.

I use this trick and it works well for me.. For one I only wait about 2-3 seconds after putting it in the flame (15 secs is way too long) - you have to apply it while it's still melted. Also the pencil has to be as sharp as you can get it otherwise it will come out too thick. I normally use this trick for cheap eyeliner that doesn't apply/spread very easily to the lid.

I have to do this a lot with the eye liners your sharpen. It's not really a timed thing. You just put it in the fire for a second then blow on the eye liner till it looks like it hardened up a little. To check just use your finger to see if it pushes it down.
