Thank you so much! I used to make a lot of resin products and have lots of silicone molds. I’ve been looking for something else to do I’ve just kinda lost my love for it and think this would be a great transition! When I’m not super broke I’m sure I’ll have more questions but thanks so much!! Heard that company is the best

Thank you soooo much for this DYI. I have been making soap for about two years now. My husband who honestly has showed no interest in my product in the past came to me about the jelly soap. I now can make something that he may actually use so thank you .

I loved this video however, the reason why lush products are more expensive is because their ingredients are of the highest quality and ethically sourced. I know the purpose of this video is to show you can make it cheaper, but there are reasons why lush is pricey. I do support how you showed the process of making one if you're on a budget!
@reeetacraft7 жыл бұрын
nailgenius2012 many of us bath and body products creators make very similar products to Lush that are same or in some cases better and do not need to charge as much. I personally use all natural products as well and my prices are much less with a good profit margin.
@kaylaa80927 жыл бұрын
Nope most soapers make the same high quality as lush if not more. To say that they don't is a flat out insult. Do you want to know the real difference? Simply the size of the company.
@Frando877 жыл бұрын
being a bigger company they also need to take into account income of all their employees.....

nailgenius2012 it's a lot cheaper for lush because they buy their ingredients in very big bulks. they don't buy it from the chemist :p lål

Great video. 👍 I don't know why you'd put the jelly soap in just a regular container, because that doesn't look nice at all. I think it would look super nice if you had put them in molds, so that they could be cut jelly soap shapes... I would be interested to see how that turns out. I've also seen videos where they make homemade jelly soap with gelatin and soap at home, instead of using the jelly soap base that you used. I'd be interested to see if that actually works.

@codename98246 жыл бұрын
Microwaves are perfectly safe as microwaves are tiny ( micro) sound waves. Heat is produced by them because they excite water molecules. Heat is a type of radiation, ionizing radiation is the dangerous kind and isn’t produced by anything that isn’t radioactive. Microwaves are perfectly 100% safe.

I love your videos, and they are very informative. Don't know if this product is a true comparison to Lush though. I'm sure that as a soap, it is highly effectively. You showed evidence of that in your video, and it looks like it works even better than Lush's. However, a lot of people buy from Lush because of their various policies like ethically sourced and sustainable ingredients. I would be curious to see what the price comparison would be between a Lush product and a DIY product if the person actively sought out fair trade ingredients. I wouldn't be shocked if the DIY was still cheaper as a hobbyist would't have to pay the overhead that Lush does, but I think that would be an interesting video to see.

Hi Katie - I just looked at Brambleberry's website and they sell buckets of Stephenson's Jelly Melt and Pour for 2 lbs = $5.00. So 4 lbs = $10.00 Was shipping and handling really $20.57? Wow ... As of July 30, 2016 - The Chemistry Store is out of product and doesn't expect a shipment until August 29th - yikes...

@strawberryrockyroad6 жыл бұрын
Lushes products are more expensive because they actually pay their workers well and make sure they have safe work environments. When products are cheap it’s either because they’re made poorly or they don’t pay their workers. And a lot of people are commenting independent soap makers don’t have to have high prices and you’re right! You’re not paying for workers, all the money goes directly to you. Which is great! But Lush isn’t a company like Walmart they actually do ethically source their ingredients and treat their workers well and pay them well. Not everyone can afford their products which is understandable, but don’t bash on them just because of their prices. There are plenty of other luxury companies that make their products hella expensive but they don’t pay their workers, make sure their ingredients are ethically sourced, and are not very good. Focus on those.
@tiffany70236 жыл бұрын

Lush is expensive because they source their ingredients fair trade and pay their employees a living wage. Of course a DIY is going to be cheaper, you don't have employees and corporate taxes to pay. :)
