When I was starting out in photography I would stress out buying all the photography gear, back then things were really expensive and I would be saving up for months to buy new gear. And for some stupid reason I was hellbent on finding good, professional gear that is cheap and I literally wasted years on scrambling it all together before feeling ready to start doing jobs. And here you are, making a softbox out of cardboard and aluminum foil and it's really all you need. Don't make the same mistake people, build 4 of these softboxes and start shooting, don't waste your time.

This looks so beautiful. There are so many other tutorials for this but somehow they appear very cheap and not sturdy too. Just because you're making it at home with very small amount of money doesn't mean it has to "appear" cheap too. This video is good. Amazing job kind human. Much love

I like this better than most of the DIY softbox tutorials I've seen. Good job! For mine, I'm going to make it with velcro tabs so it can be collapsible to fit in my NYC sized closets, and I'm going to check out the hardware store for some kind of adapter so I don't have to tape the bulb into the square in the back. I like the pvc pipe adaptor you made too.
@nickberttel45887 жыл бұрын
Thank you veryy much for comment !! and im glad you´ve like it. The velcro tabs are a good idea and more when the space is reduce. Hope you do it soon, u´ll have a great lighting Regards :)

I actually did this! Thanks a lot but instead of an elbow for the light i used a T tube. A recomendation. The 50cm tube that goes on the floor, make it about 55 because of the elbows it gets shorter. Genious! I also bought the light cable and the thing that makes it on an off so i didnt have to cut any cables
@PradeepKumar-tq4ev4 жыл бұрын
Without cutting how will you insert t tube bro.

DONT FOLLOW HOW HE CONNECTS HIS CABLES. THIS IS NOT SAFE. You instead need to use a plug with screw terminals or a terminal box with screw terminals. If 10000 people use his method and only 1% have an issue, that's 100 people that have a fire or get electrocuted. The rest of the video is very helpful.

That's not electronics. Your phone has electronics in it. That's just playing with electricity you shouldn't do if you are not an electrician because it's dangerous if you don't know what you are doing and probably even illegal.

I think version 2.0 would be awesome. Because there is no dimmer on the softbox however it is cheap as project was. Also there is no soft paper or filter on the front. Those are really important to softbox for sure. I really like the idea and hope you'll do better
