I like how you speak in present tense Quiet Nerd. I also prefer present tense in writing, as in who cares to read an entire book in past tense.

It is nice and a useful thing to have. There's a few things I'd do differently like I'd use an Aluminum suitcase so I could carry it one handed so I'd have a hand free when carrying it around, also might find a rucksack it fits nicely in so I would also make it thinner, just as high as the battery is used and I'd have put the controller panel in a different way, lastly I'd have made it slightly less permanent by installing the USB port properly without glue but I guess it was a quick solution to your issue. Still nice idea and something I'd definitely build if going camping etc.

You also need to think in terms of weather proofing. As your going to be outdoors. And rain can absolutely wreak havoc on electricals. Edit: You can also visit any army navy store and find a good light metal box in place of wood.

Great build I have built something like this and also did a video on it. I love to make and invent things. I wanted to give you some feedback. I saw you used hot glue for sealing some of the wire parts and such. I used to use this a bit too and well let's say I learned the hard way it's not the best thing and using it like you did could be a problem later. If this is ever in a place where it will get hot say you left it out in the sun or a car on a summer day all that hot gun can melt and reharden as this is what happen to one of my projects.

@QuietNerd Жыл бұрын
I think after everything it was around $500 or so I'm kinda guessing off my head. and I'm sure if you shop around and change parts out you can do cheaper for sure. The solar panels were the most of it. It was hard to find ones that folded up as small with decent wattage.

id have used blocking diodes in the parallel of the two arrays so they cant backdrive one another if one is partially shaded. Great execution otherwise

i think the wooden box with plastic components in direct sun constantly for hours is not good. battery will also get very warm which will loose efficiency. there should also be some ventilation holes. components will cook inside the box in direct sun

That is NOT a pure sine wave inverter, it is ENTIRELY too small.
@QuietNerd Жыл бұрын
It was marketed and labeled and sold as a pure sine wave inverter so I really hope it is one.
@cgwworldministries83 Жыл бұрын
@@QuietNerd there’s lots of fake things coming out of china. It’s physically too small to be pure sine. It might be sawtooth sine at best. Pure sine are large and heavy.
@cgwworldministries83 Жыл бұрын
@@QuietNerd the physics of pure sine conversion requires very heavy large copper coils and full bridge rectifiers.
