400 watts of solar panels, 8 rain barrels and a 40lb thrust trolling motor propelled us on our 5 day river adventure on the North Saskatchewan River. I brought along crazy neighbor and the two of us got stuck, caught fish, and had the adventure of a lifetime.

I love how this dude shows simple glimpses into his adventures without over exaggerating anything or boasting about his skills. Just a normal dude that likes to get out and politely does his thing while pushing a lot of boundaries. Plus he sometimes brings Crazy Neighbor who seems to be a chill old dude that’s in it for not much else except hanging out with his buddy while enjoying the adventure. This is as wholesome and real as it gets in the world of friends enjoying themselves and not harming anyone or anything.

@@ryanjones5592 Good on ya! I have been riding motorcycles since I was 10. I'm an old man now and I still get excited as that 10 year old every time I throw a leg over even though I ride every day. Favorite destination? Why the fishing hole, of course. My dad rode. When he put those keys to my brand new Honda under the x-mass tree, what he really gave me was a life long love affair, and he knew it. Same thing with horses. At the end of the day...Ya gotta dance with the one who brung ya. Do the things that you love. It's good for you.

There's never a Steve Wallis video I want to end! Suggestions for next time: some kind of rudder, it'll help you stay pointed down or up stream, even if it's something you fit on the side to act as a catch for the water to spin to it's smallest face. You get the idea I'm sure. A camera mount on the rafters of the boat would probably help free up some space, make timelapses easier, and keep you head nice and red from hitting it. I don't know if it's a yearly thing as much as other less capped rivers, but is spring got higher tides you could tale advantage of? You could go further in a shorter time and find the Pacific with even more time. And like I said, there's never too long of a video from Steve Wallis! Thanks for doing all this and taking us along Steve and Crazy Neighbor!

Overcast skies will still give you a decent amount of juice. It's better since you aren't relying on a single panel. More than a few houses over here still put a decent amount back into the grid, and moss loves growing on solar panels in Hawaii.

Great adventure Steve! Now. Make the “Director’s Extended Cut” with allllll the minutiae available and introduce it via a live stream for the donation bump you deserve.... (otherwise I’m fine if I don’t see your stuff for the next three weeks based on the last supersized episode) I’d post myself wearing my hunker down shirt in the shadow of the Golden Gate bridge but KZbin won’t allow it...
