Living to DIY with Rachel Metz

Living to DIY with Rachel Metz

Күн бұрын

This week is a longer video because I’m jamming so many (actually awesome) DIY spa/pamper ideas PLUS my DIY facial. Everything you need is listed and linked below this description! I am a huge fan of treating yourself but I also am not one that likes to socialize when I want to chill 🙈. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good spa but I love being at home more. I wanted to show you guys how I pamper myself including the honey facial all my ladies inquire about when I post it on my Instagram (feel free to follow me @rachel_metz and see my obsession with my dog if you want). There are so many different DIY spa day routines out there, what works for you? Let me know if you guys want to see more of this! I have so much in the works but what matters most is what you want so leave me a comment below. Happy Wednesday, stay rad 🤘.
0:13 Muscle soak
0:44 Sugar cookie lip scrub
1:18 Milk & honey bath melts
2:29 Coffee massage bar
3:20 Honey facial
Muscle soak
kit.com/rachel_metz/muscle-so...
OG creator Heidi from Happiness is Homemade
1 1/2 cup epsom salt
1/2 cup coarse sea salt/pink Himalayan salt
1/2 cup baking soda
6-8 drops essential oil (totally optional)
Soap coloring (totally optional)
Sugar cookie lip scrub
kit.com/rachel_metz/sugar-coo...
OG creator Katie from Wellness Mama
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
1/4 teaspoon sweet almond oil
1 tablespoon organic cane sugar - make sure it’s a finer sugar! Not the RAW kind I got.
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon raw honey
Milk honey bath melts
kit.com/rachel_metz/milk-hone...
OG creator Bren Did and you can too
1/3 cup rich mango butter (totally wish I got it but I used cocoa butter)
1/3 cup sweet almond oil
1 cup organic powdered milk
1/4 cup “luxurious” honey but I used raw
1/2 cup organic powdered milk for rolling them in
Coffee massage bar
kit.com/rachel_metz/massage-bar
OG creator the Make Up Dummy 👈 clearly obsessing with her right now
6 tablespoons cocoa butter
1 tablespoon shea butter
1 tablespoon coffee-infused oil but I just substituted Sweet Almond oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A handful of coffee beans
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil but I just substituted Jojoba oil
Honey, lemon, baking soda facial
kit.com/rachel_metz/honey-facial
Honey
Lemon
Baking soda
Apple Cider Vinegar for toner
Rose water spray (totally optional)
Coconut oil or whatever your choice for moisturizer
Everyone’s skin responds different but this is what works for me. I do this facial every four days! This facial works for brightening and moisturizing the skin while helping reducing blemishes. Honey for , lemon for and baking soda for . I use Apple Cider Vinegar for my toner ONLY when I do this facial but normally I use Witch Hazel as my daily toner. Coconut oil doesn’t work for everyone (it’s a trial & error kind of deal) but my skin LOVES it.

It really is! I used it on Paul's back later and he's obsessed. I didn't do the coffee infused oil because I hate when something smells too strong of coffee and then it sticks to you all day.

This video is nice but oh my god please don't use lemon, baking soda, apple cider vinegar and coconut oil on your face. Lemon is photosensitive and very acidic, baking soda is quite basic (in terms of pH) and there is a reason people use it as a DIY detergent ingredient. Apple cider vinegar is also very acidic (ethanoic acid) and should only be used when its very diluted down and coconut oil is also comedogenic (blocks pores). Try things like making an oatmeal mask which doubles as a scrub and has hydrating properties, also witch hazel and rose water make for good toners too. Shea butter is also a good alternative to coconut oil on the face since its non-comedogenic.

@marciparks3377 6 жыл бұрын
MsShaye H there is no law! I was just hoping that other would read this and not damage their skin like I did mine. My dermatologist recommended the same for anyone because of the harsh pH. You can obviously put whatever you like on your face though, it's yours.
@shannh6724
@shannh6724 6 жыл бұрын
Marci Parks Ok just because YOU messed your skin up doesnt mean she will. Your dermatologist don't know about everyone's skin. We are all different. If its working for her, then how can you assume she's messing up her skin?
@marciparks3377
@marciparks3377 6 жыл бұрын
MsShaye H I'm pretty sure a dermatologist can talk about EVERYONES skin. It's their job. There are many articles in medical journals detailing the damage skin care products with incorrect pH can do to the skin! I would love to link some reading for you... but I feel bad because I can't find any that are free access.
