Your workmanship is finonminal!!! I think this piece is absolutely stunning. I came across your video while browsing dollhouse ideas. For my daughters 6th birthday this July I want to make her a dollhouse. If this piece is part of a dollhouse that is one lucky little girl!! .I will have to check out your channel to see what else you share. This mom knows she doesnt have the skill or even the tools for that matter to make anything this beautiful for my daughter and in a way it breaks my heart. At the end if the day I can only do what I can. Thank you and stay blessed!!

What an absolutely beautiful piece of work!! God has given you a talent! Just gorgeous! (except for the staple holes filled in on the edge) I KNOW you didn't think a woman would say something right? :) I still say it's just beautiful! What could be done differently? The staples kept the board curved, right?

Subscribed and liked! I give you an A+++ ! This is the BEST STAIRCASE TUTORIAL I've ever found. You are fantastic at what you do! Would it be possible for you to give me the measurements and angles for a 1/12th scale staircase so I could build one for a DIY dollhouse that I have been working on for 3 years now. Everything has been built and carved by hand and I still have the stairs to go plus a few more things.
@frenchriversprings5 жыл бұрын
I had patreon but they closed my account. Probably cause I had 0 patreon and wasn't pushing it. As for the measurements and angles, I don't have it. Wish I had the time to draw it so the average joe could understand it. It's pretty complex. I draw a few vague measurements that only I could understand cause I did it for me. I'm sorry.

WOW!!! Completely stunning project. 💜💜💜 But I have to correct you as to the scale of this project. This seems to be much larger than 1:6 scale. I work in 1:6 scale (also known as Play scale) and it is the size for Barbie dolls. This project as-is would never fit into one of my dollhouses. I will, however, be utilizing the pattern and techniques for the spiral stair case to add to a Victorian dollhouse I’m designing now. Again, wonderful project. 💜💜💜

Beautiful workmanship. Thanks for sharing this video. 1/6 scale is perfect for this type of project. If you wouldn't mind may I inquire as to the step thickness and dowel diameter which you used? Looking forwards to your next build video.
@frenchriversprings6 жыл бұрын
The steps were 1/2 inch thick and the dowels were 1/4

Hey thanks for the reply. From the video, that was what I had guessed, but I have been known to be wrong now and then. I've been building scale structures for years and when I came across your spiral staircase I was in awe! That is one project I have never taken on but I think you just may have inspired me to give it a go. Enjoyed your box project too. Hope you will continue to post more.

Good work. It is a handsome staircase, but it is not a spiral staircase, which has a radius that lengthens by a constant amount for each degree of rotation (think chambered nautilus). It is a helical staircase, which has a constant radius.
It appears that the misnomer has become institutionalized in the jargon of construction/architecture. They are geometric terms first. A spiral is a curve whose radius changes as stated above. It can be a two-dimensional figure. A helix cannot. It takes its name from the apparent path of the sun (Helios in Greek) from one solstice to the next as it circles the Earth daily rising (or falling) a little higher each day. Both staircases pictured in the referenced article are helical. An example of a spiral staircase is more likely to be found in a mansion where displayed opulence rather than conservation of space is the object, and the curve is seldom much greater than ninety degrees. At any rate, I enjoyed the video, and I have learned that what I probably would have called the 'the central column' is referred to as the newel.
