DIY Square Tube Bender: How Does it Compare to a Factory Bend?

I get on well with a flat roller on the pivoting part and just having a small ridge on the former. I use a flat profile former made from 4”pipe with a thin piece of fence wire looped around it where the centre of the tube goes, you get a nice indent with no kinking and it doesn’t reduce the tube profile too much 👍🏻

Good start. I think it may work with less distortion with a thinner weight (wheel) as your mandrel.

And narrow up the side straps so the bulging metal sides has no place to go? Probably be more difficult to get out of the bender when finished.
