I use a 3lb anchor, because I'm in freshwater. I do love my Yak Gear stakeout pole. I always keep my anchor, in my bow storage. It stays there. Whats 3 more lbs on a 100lb hull. 😆 🎣

I tied a short piece of rope between the rings of my anchor trolley and stab the pole through the created loop. This allows me to move the staked anchor from bow to stern as desired.Works great and is quick to set.

Good design Steve. A 1 1/4” piece of sched 40 attached with conduit clips would weigh less. Trying to get that 3/4 pole into a 3/4 hole while fighting a fish might be challenging. Best of luck.

Same as power pole on bass boats, once you have one installed and you spin due to the wind. You will want another on the opposite side

Steve you should always clear the wood from the blade after a cut, not leave it sit there while the blade spinning down.

I did woodworking for years and cringe every time I see anyone standing in front of the blade. It's an extremely painful experience to get hit in the gut with a small chunk of wood.

@@Manuel_Z_Kayaksabsolutely I fear Steve will be fishing with less fingers with his lack of safety knowledge when using most of his tools.

NEVER EVER stand in front of the table saw blade. I had a 2 inch block of wood catch the blade and hit me in the gut. I was on the floor with the wind knocked out of me for 5-10 minutes and wound up with a 15" bruise on my stomach. DO NOT PUSH THE CUTOFF TOWARDS THE MOVING BLADE. We don't want to see you injured! If you decide to step out of the kayak.. RE-SET the anchor pole while on the ground before walking away... Ya know, you can stick an anchor pole into the anchor trolley loop and change the position of your kayak also. Just sayin'

You know you could have easily done the same thing with a simple U bracket in about 5 mins.🤣💯

Homeboy just spent $20-30 in supplies and a few hours to build something you can get for under $100, and I’m sure it’s going to be less durable too.

5:30 The pushing tool in your right hand is the worst invention ever. You push it almost above and towards the blade You should throw it away and hold this big piece with your hand. It is better to lose a finger or two ;) than slip to the left and put the whole hand/arm into the blade.
