Hi! Just a recommendation (i carve stamps a lot) Instead of drawing directly onto the rubber, you can use tracing paper to trace your design and rub the traced peice onto the rubber. It might help with the accidental carving of the rubber with the tip of the pencil.

in Hoi An, Viet Nam, I've found a small store that also has workshop to make stamps from wood. It was amazing to see a print that come from your own hand. Some day you come there, it would be one of the recommended.

The process footage was gorgeous, and the sound of the brayer and baren were just so satisfying! We were a little confused by the "learning litho" caption but we figured it was a typo for "lino", since lithography is not really accessible for the home studio. Great results!

This came at the right moment, just as I’m looking to upgrade from my old inexpensive linocut tools to more professional ones. And had just added the same you have (power grip) to my cart and then I saw it in your video! Hope to use them soon. Thanks for the inspiration

Tracing paper is usually what's used. Remember to flip the drawing though since you want the mirror image on the lino block (especially if there's text on your design)!

yeah it for sure is the worst part of doing lino haha. I use baby oil and it gets so much of it off!
@justkelly2 Жыл бұрын
I was surprised the paper didn’t shift when you were rubbing it onto the blocks. Is that because the ink is slightly sticky? I craft with rubber stamps and that would definitely result in a smudged print with normal stamping ink.
