Lesssgooooooo !!!!! Very awesome zach!!!!! And i would say ya..invest in a vib tumbler and media..... get both kinds.. they have green and white media...... plus you can use it to tumble anything you want down the road.. . Plus it works for you...allowing you to do other stuff.. it doesn't confine you to sitting there shaking it!!!!! Looks awesome..i wouldn't be mad if ALL my knives were battleworn
@zachstuffАй бұрын
Thanks Nick!! Yeah checking out media today and seeing what options for tumblers are out there. Have a great weekend!! 🤙🏼

I used to acid etch knife blades with muriatic acid then do the same method with the rocks and bottle but next time just put a big towel around it and tie it and toss it in the drier on a low heat works perfectly 👍
@poncho151Ай бұрын
That battle wash is likely an etched blade not ceracoted, which will take the stone washing much better so it’s not going to look the same. That said I’m actually surprised the ceracote looked as good as it does. A small rock tumbler with ceramic media or just rocks works well for blades and parts without have to buy a big vibratory tumbler. Also I’d be careful putting loctite in those thumbstud threads if you ever plan on removing them again being that they’re tiny aluminum threads.
@zachstuffАй бұрын
Yeah my first research confirmed it was a tumbled coated blade. But I suspect there is magic elixir involved!! Thanks for the tumbler idea too!

I just stonewashed my bronze bugout in the dryer 😢. Clip now matches the battlewash blade, but the scales are a little messed up. To lifesharp, or not to lifesharp, that is the question.
@marshalllaw123Ай бұрын
I can show you how amazing it can look with both DLC and PVD coatings! The thing about them is they’re really HARD, so a bigger container, a liberal spray of WD40 (no water), and then… violence is your friend! Don’t buy the HF tumbler for this application, it won’t give you good results (speaking from experience).
@zachstuffАй бұрын
Well that is good to know! Thank you! 🙏🏼

I'd say get some stonewashing stone bodies not random rocks
