thank you for a wonderful demonstration and thank you for doing it in English too. I am very grateful as my Dutch is totally rubbish 😆 ps I think my mum might tell me off and laugh at me if I ask her. she is 85 and she has stolen my iron as I hate ironing. 😂 I will press mine in the trouser press 😂 😘

This video is amazing! I'm doing this for 2 weeks so I'm trying a lot of things but my prints are grey, nice design but grey :( I will try the oxwall and maybe it will help me. What do you think about 100% cotton paper? I like that one because is more thick but don't know if works better or not. I hope you can see this! 😊

I tried a calligraphy ink by Pelikan which I had at home anyway, but it just shows up as a very faint grey, not black like your prints seem to be. Thank you!

Hi there Kate, I ordered sumi-e chinese ink (this ink will have a high black pigmentation). Here is the link, from the netherlands: www.dekwast.nl/artikel/sumi-e-chinese-inkt-flesje ). The paper you use has to absorb the ink quickly (use inkjet paper for the best result). I also tried so many ink and paper before i found the right combination that works for me :) Hope you will find the right combination for you too

This way i can help prevent others to buy loads of materials that will not work as best, or alteast i hope i can help that way ;) Have fun doing this art form and have fun with your Japanese stab binding project

Thank you so much, very relaxing too :D Enjoy your day! xoxo
@julianithewo62347 жыл бұрын
@loombicious7 жыл бұрын
Groetjes Nancy

@pussycat39827 жыл бұрын
thank you for compiling this fun to watch, informative tutorial. what i like the most about this technique is that you do not need that many materials! it is so enticing that both the ink and the water have a mind of their own and the less you try and influence it the better. go with the flow kind of a thing.. which can be very therapeutic if you are a perfectionist like myself :). as a fellow european i would very much appreciate links in the description box where best to buy both the ink and the brushes, though...
@loombicious7 жыл бұрын
Hi there Pussy Cat. The reason i love this technique so much is because i'm a perfectionist too ;) You can't mess this up you can't do this the wrong way and it will look amazing :) I could post links where i bought the materials, but i bought this in The Netherlands, not sure if they will ship to foreign countries. But here they are: - THE WEBSHOP: www.dekwast.nl/ - INK: www.dekwast.nl/artikel/sumi-e-chinese-inkt-flesje - OXGALL: www.dekwast.nl/artikel/ossengal-60-ml-artikel-031 - BRUSHES: www.dekwast.nl/artikel/sumi-e-penseel-bamboe You need inkjet paper or paper that will suck up the ink realy fast like rice paper. Not to thick like cardboard. But not to thin either!
@pussycat39827 жыл бұрын
thank you so much for taking the time to respond! I am definitely going to give it a try

@pussycat39827 жыл бұрын
everyone in japan has their own highly official name stamp. it serves as official signature and is therefore mostly kept under lock and key. i thought about getting one with my first name and that's that :). thanks again for replying, loombicious!
