I use a kitchen vac pac machine to wet form leather sheaths.

I first wrap the knife in some cling wrap to protect it from the moisture, Then place them in a thin smooth freezer bag before placing them into a vac-pac bag because the vac-pac bags have a slight rough pattern to them which helps the air to get drawn out which can transfer into the veg tanned leather. Sometimes I like pattern on the leather but sometimes I like it to stay smooth. Some vac-pac bags are rough on one side and smooth on the other too. Anyway, food vacuum sealing machines are very cheap and work great with wet forming veg tan leather.

Thanks Jay for your feedback 😁👍🏻 I’m glad you like it and will give it a try yourself 👌🏻 It’s 2-3 mm thick leather I’ve used for it. We don’t use other measurements here in Denmark 🇩🇰 so I hope you can find suitable leather in your area 👍🏻🏕🔥🌲Tom
