Doing projects on a budget should be a constant theme of this show. I'm certain Tony will want to get into more expensive projects as the channel grows but I'd love for the theme of the channel to stay cheap projects. The Sykeclone is the coolest build on KZbin IMO because if you've got $20k to buy yourself a sports vehicle and you want something really fast, you might be able to do this truck better than anything you can buy, including adding labor costs for work you can't do if you don't have a lift.

Cam and rings are certainly going to have an affect on the blow thru carb. As far as the trans issues go, Stay with the v6 converter, but upgrade the guts to what the v8s came with ( and yes, they are different ). Also, you may want to contact performabuilt transmissions ( who also have a youtube channel ) right there not far from you in PA. Who knows, they MIGHT be interested in sponsoring you. They know more than most about getting the best out of the 4l60's.

Tony, Your "not looking" comment reminded me of a story. Decades ago Chrysler Corporation ran MoTech. MoTech was an automotive trade school for adults. When interviewing the man who was to be the transmission rebuild instructor it was determined that he was blind. He stated that you did not look at what you were doing you felt what you were doing. He was hired and was a great instructor.

If anyone was apart of the s10 forum in the 90s you’d probably remember a young man that was on there that did something similar with his father. If I remember correctly, it had what called the “wildside” fiberglass truck bed, used the awd components from an Astro van, silver (like that Indy syclone) with the c4 sawblades (or another clean selection) - I remember it being pretty sweet. I had built 4.3 at this time with a v1 sc/intercooled. Also can’t remember if it was awd but there was the “SYborg”. That was also before KZbin was big but the guy was pretty detailed online with the build.

I had a build idea. A full size 80's Ford or Mercury station wagon, underpinned by a Mercury Mountaineer AWD system, powered by a built and Procharged 5.4 2V mod motor from an E-150, run through a built 4R70W or 6R80 transmission. For years I've hoped to see a 80's full size sleeper American wagon, and though I love Steve Morris' "Boostmaster" and Gingium's turbo LS Volvo, I also think of how cool it would be to mash together some attainable Ford parts and see what happens. Love the content, congrats on 200k

Watching y’all struggle a little getting that out reminded me: Had the spindle of a torque converter land on my finger when I was 17 while replacing the transmission in my 1974 k20 pickup on the street in front of my house back in 2009 or so. Was a pretty gnarly crush injury. Still have a scar there that runs right through my fingerprint. Those suckers are HEAVY!! Luckily I didn’t lose the tip of my finger.

10:00 Tony give him a few more ice cream seasons and he’ll have than pan up on a workbench, sitting on a stool to scrape it 🤣 Preserve that back young grasshopper!

Has an early Rotsun sound to it with the 4.3! So sick, I can picture it with the tune dialed, some welds and a built box hooking it to 11’s
