Chad Pipkin You got this, it’s truly a modular setup with individual portions. Go slow and be careful, when you’re done you’ll be asking yourself why everyone doesn’t do it and why you waited! Thanks for watching and the feedback I appreciate it! JD

@@gt150glas went good for the first time building one was not as bad as I thought it would be . I ended up adding case saver and manual valve body .Was a fun build . Thanks for watching.

Buying the HD bushing "KIT" would have included the Torrington bearing that fits.
@Headsup95503 жыл бұрын
I'll never build another one without the kit. I keep seeing people say they can't use their anti walk bushing because they try to use that silly th350 bearing. Just do it right and buy the correct parts and it works beautifully!!

@@HeadFlowInc At 5:20 there is a big bearing inside that snap ring, where does that belong? I see it in the kits but not sure where it belongs

C-6 or E4OD ft pump bushing #36034 is 0.080 taller fits with the 350 bearing perfect with a 0.020 shim usually comes out to 0.010 rear end play. now take that 4 tab metal washer and replace the plastic one between ft and rear planet gear
@HeadFlowInc6 жыл бұрын
Russell Spencer Both 4 tang washers are metal. Thanks for the tip on the pump bushing, I’ll try to set it up with the rear roller bearing on the next build. 👍👍👍

Glad I watched again. Missed the 4 Tang washer trick.

Just did mine. The stock bushing is .105 into the case and is red lock-tited and staked. We shall see what happens.
@HeadFlowInc6 жыл бұрын
LSX Volvo Guy As long as it’s staked it shouldn’t be able to move or at least it’s less likely. 👍👍👍

I was thinking about buying LubeGard's Assemblee Goo lol. Depending on where you live if temps go past 113F or something go with Green goo. Reading back of label it says the temps too. Blue is fine almost everywhere you go... I think green is more for those 5% places you live that are extremely hot and the firm tack.

Really good info you gave here, correct me if I’m wrong but at 8.48 you have put the Torrington bearing in opposite way?
@HeadFlowInc5 жыл бұрын
750iV12 Good question, I’m not sure it matters but maybe? I’d have to look at the exploded diagram of the TH400 to see how it looks. Was there any design characteristics you’ve seen or found that the Torrington bearing has a specific advantage/operation depending on which piece is top/bottom? Interesting question, Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it! JD 👍

HeadFlowInc jpat.co.uk/uploads/1/0/3/5/103549764/07__gm3a_th400_3l80_4l80_4l85e.pdf I looked at this, it is the opposite way because it would grind slightly if not. 👍

Use grease instead of trans goo I live 200 miles from any car part store
@HeadFlowInc4 жыл бұрын
Jse contractors Inc. I’m not sure if all types of grease will dissolve in the transmission fluid. It might work fine and if it worked for you it must have worked. I’ve seen guys use regular petroleum jelly like Vaseline. Thanks for watching I hope you subscribe! JD
