Can you dye a dry shirt, or does pre-soaking it have to be done? My girls are wanting to tie dye some things, and I want to do them right.

u can dye a dry shirt or a wet one. either way works but for bottle dye its best if the shirt is somewhat wet via soaking it in soda ash ahead of time.

How long do the dyes stay useable after they are mixed? (I'm just assuming they are a powder). Do they start to lose their vibrancy or get streaky in any way? I've only ever used the Tulip bottles that already have the powder in them and I know they have to be used pretty quick. Thanks in advance! Great video! Subbed

If you store them in say a refrigerator they keep for about a week in the liquid form. yes, you are right, i buy them in powder form. 😊. once they r dead so to speak u can’t tell when u put the dye on. instead u figure it out when u rinse and wash them. they will b lighter if the dye has started to die.

Do you ever have issues with colors bleeding during the washing process? I was wondering if I should use one of those Tide Color Catchers when I wash a batch?

best way to avoid bleeding during the washing process is to not overload the washer , use hot water, and move items to the dryer as soon as the washing machine cycle is complete.
