so I have a question some of the places on KZbin insist on using a crimped you say no . so I don't need a crimper ? also is the beading wire with 7 21 or 40 something the same as tiger tail ??? I've never seen it for sale but crafters talk about tiger tail and I'd just want to know if I can use the coated beading material I have I'll take a picture with this and hope you get it .. Love your videos and tutorials very clear instructions which isnt always the case. keep up the great work !

Hi Lori: Yes, Tiger Tail is the same as beading wire. It's nylon coated, flexible wire. As for the crimps, people recommend you use the crimping tool because it make a kind of double bend that is more secure for heavier necklaces and bracelets that take a lot of wear and tear. The crimp tool would not work for this design because you need the tiger tail to lie flat. It's also much easier to crimp the little 2mm ones beside the beads flat with your regular pliers. Hope this helps!

Are those other places on KZbin using the crimps to secure the ends of pieces (necklaces, bracelets, etc.)? If so, I think that's probably why they are saying to use the crimp pliers along with the crimps. Like Heather said, these ones are for making the wires lie flat, side-by-side, next to each other and aren't really for securing, at least not as they would normally be. 😀

Thanks so much Diane. It is a bit tricky, but worth it because doing the same design with separate wires risks having them come loose. (it can be done though)
