My grandpa use to have one of these and I would swing on it everyday. I loved that swing it was so smooth to swing on and would go really high. Rob did a great job with this.

Great swing! Love the burning of the wood. A man can never have enough scrap wood! I recently bought an outdoor storage shed, needed shelves installed; my dad’s attic had just what I needed! 😊 Happy Mothers Day Lindsey. 💕

*HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, LINDSEY❣️💜😉 Great intro and camera work, Selah‼️🥰 Wonderful job on the swing, Rob, and I liked that you burned the wood for longevity protection of the wood itself. Not many Americans are aware of that technique; KUDOS‼️👌🖤*

Now that's the *best* kind of swing! In playgrounds today, they have those rubber seats that hug your butt and are sooooo UNcomfortable. Safer, maybe, but not nearly as much fun! Good work, Rob! ♥♥♥ (Selah is such a cutie. ♥)

I was under the impression that you don’t have to varnish wood that has been burn treated. You could have saved yourself some time and expense. Still that’s an awesome swing. The challenge is always finding the right tree and getting up there.

You don’t but we wanted to make sure all the charcoal wouldn’t rub off on our clothes. 🙂

I can't seem to find a video that shows how you anchor the rope at the top of the tree without climbing it so that you are making the swing like you do with just a single rope on each side. I saw you throw it up and you had two strands dangling on each side but you end up with one strand. So I still don't know how to attach it at the top.
@ourdiyary10 ай бұрын
We threw one really long rope over the branch. The two "sides" that dangled down are the two sides of the swing (to hold onto.) Does that make sense?
@Alexandra4JC9 ай бұрын
@@ourdiyary Thanks for trying but if you threw just one long rope and both ends dangled didn’t the top end in a “V”? It seems that would make the swing spin. Maybe I’m just not understanding. I don’t know. But thanks!

When we moved to so. IL from Chicago, our Dad made 2 swings in trees for us. We swang on them for years, until I was way high coming down and the rope broke. I probably fell 20' on my back. Knocked the wind out of me. No Dr, no ER...lol just pick her up dust her off. I also ran around the corner, fell through the open cellar door, bouncing off the stone wall on the way down. My Dad and Grandpa were down there in a split second. MOM 👩 screamed. No broken bones, no scratches. I think my guardian angel 😇 wears a football helmet ⛑ 🪖
