My Boya Mic has a TRRS output. But this still helps me. I assume it is CTIA standard. I ordered some cables TRRS to TRS to connnect to my camera but some cables don't work - maybe because of OMTP standard - the cables came from China. Other cables have strong interference or noise signals. I assume bad shielded. I bought now a fat 1 meter long 1.5mm2 cable which supposedly has a good shielding to make my own cable now. I hope it works. THanks for the diagram download! I have no multimeter to meassure - otherwise it would be easier to figure it all out I guess.

When I google for TRRS wiring the ground is on 3rd pin and mic on 4rth. But actual wires are different

I have try to make exactly as in the video, unfortunately it does not work on my iphone 12. My setup being saramonic blink 500 connected to mcdodo open mic splitter. The curious thing is the included cable (TRRS to TRS) works but the DIY one does not, even though when I check using continuity on my multimeter, it is the same. Any ideas why this happen?

Of course: it will work for your iPhone definitely, but Apple has restricted connectivity of its Lightning plug for MFI plugs only. Therefore, you will need this plug to connect to your iPhone: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnnSe5KZi85gatksi=I9DpAn-XkZRpD0tq As for other Mics to be connected to you Camera, this should work with you with no problems at all. you need this wire here

hi! i have a problem. i bought a TRRS cable recently, so that i could talk through the headphones without having to connect it to Bluetooth because it lags me alot, but after connecting the cable, my voice instead is getting recorded from the phone's microphone, instead of the headphones. what seems to be the problem? I've contacted both lenovo and Sony supports but they only told me to buy an adapter, what adapter? what type? thank you for future response!

It's Tip+Ring on 3.5mm TRS from External Mic's Signal INTO Sleeve of 3.5mm TRRS CTIA HP Jack. It is not feeding audio from HP into External Mic. What KZbinr did is indeed Correct.
