Nice install with a powerful little inverter. I wasn't expecting the jack-hammer to run either.

I have the 48v version in my golf cart connected to a LiFePo4 battery (that powers the cart too), with a solar panel as the roof. Amazing for project power around the farm

Yeah I’m going to buy one of them soon I think. Love these little inverters.

Would love to see how you “line side tap” with your 18k and where you put the CT’s for that installation. Nobody has shown that yet.
@GavinStoneDIY Жыл бұрын
You can add the CT’s just after the meter with that installation. Or you can put them in the wiring box.
@TylerTheCompiler Жыл бұрын
@@GavinStoneDIY I understand adding them after the meter and before the taps, but if you add them in the wiring box wouldn’t the CT’s be measure all the voltage output from the inverter, and none from grid?
@GavinStoneDIY Жыл бұрын
@@TylerTheCompiler no they clamp on the incoming wires from the grid to the unit. In other words they monitor what the unit is using from the grid. I honestly have been using the 18kpv in off grid this entire time. So I haven’t dabbled in any of that yet. But even if you wanted it to monitor directly after the meter the CT’s use a standard cat5 cable. Those are fairly cheap even for long pieces. So it wouldn’t be deal to place them in your main panel in most cases.

Great video! Do you have a link for the grommets you used to go through the floorboard? I've never seen grommets like those with the screw-on tightening and sealing feature. Very cool. I have a similar setup in my truck with the Victron 12/500 with Bluetooth. Victron is very reliable. Thanks for the video.

Sure! I just added a link in the description to the strain relief grommets I used. I love those things. I use them all time for different projects.

@@GavinStoneDIY Great, thanks! Also, would you have a link for the circuit breaker coming off of the battery? That's a great idea too. Is that used instead of a fuse or do you use both?

Hello from Youngstown Ohio. I just inherited a brand new Phoenix 12/800 But there are no cables in the box. Can you tell me where I can get them please? Thanks (2awg? 4awg? )
@GavinStoneDIY14 күн бұрын
@@tomm2271 it’s likely 2 awg you want. Amazon should have what you need. Just make sure to get it long enough for wherever you need to reach.

@@GavinStoneDIY Thanks for the fast reply. Im simply going to use it to run a few thing during a power outage. I'll have a 12v Lithium with it. I'll need to cut the ends off of the wires in order to attach to the unit.
@GavinStoneDIY14 күн бұрын
@ sure thing. yeah, it’s best to use a ferrule on the ends of the wire if you have them. But it’ll work without.

Hello what's the maximum DC current on the label on the bottom of that inverter
@GavinStoneDIY6 ай бұрын
It should be around 90-100 amps discharge current.

Wow, That's a powerhouse. Do they have a 48V version? Thanks, Gavin.
@GavinStoneDIY Жыл бұрын
Yeah they have a 24v and a 48v version. People use then a lot with systems that have smaller battery banks. They can switch over to these to run essentials. Helps conserve energy at night or on cloudy days.
