DIY | Vellum Tea Bag Shape Shaker | with Pocket | TUTORIAL | 6x6 Paper

Here is a tutorial on how I made these fun tea bag shape shakers and a pocket as a fun gift
Measurements for vellum tea bag
Cut vellum paper at 3 1/2" x 6"
on the 6" side score at 2 1/2", 3' and 3 1/2"
on the 3 1/2" side score at 1" and 2 1/2"
Pocket
cut paper at 3" x 6"
fold in half

Just FYI. If you are going to try this. I made the project and I think my velum was too thick. Too bulky for the holder. And as I pressed it together a little more to go in, one of the beads/ sequins came through the velum. Great idea and I’ll try again.

There are different weight vellum paper, the thick one can be a bit tricky to fold but the more light weight vellum or tracing paper will work too 🌷Sandy

You make it look so much easier than I did when I first made mine, I emptied tea from an original bag and used it as my template to measure. :)

So sweet Sandy! I’m going to make the little tea bag with flowers inside for a nature journal! Btw…i always cut a window off center deliberately, and use the spot with the most space for the focus of my embellishment. Then it looks intentional. I don’t have to throw out any ‘mistakes’!!

I love the little tea bags. Can you use wax paper to make them. I don't have a score board so what can I use

Hi there, wax paper could possible work too. If you don't have a scoreboard, you can perhaps dot mark the measurements with a pencil and ruler then use the dot mark as a guide where to fold your paper. Let me know how that goes and I hope it will work this way for you. Sandy xx

@@septeria18 oh it didnt worked at all! I tried hot glue gun, strong adhesive tape, nothing worked with closing the sides together :D So I crapped some vellum paper that I had left but it ripped totally, maybe it was too strong or what... but I will still continue trying :D

I see that you don't glue it at the top of the 'tea bag' - and I'm concerned that the sequins inside could fall out the top. Has that ever happened?

If you watch the whole thing, you will see that she folds the top into a triangle and staples the string to it so I believe that closes it and will stop the sequins from falling out.
