doing this today, 2004 V70 turbo, intercooler adds more clutter and hoses. There are no videos for mine, lots of x90 radiators but no V70 turbos. Saw your video before I started and ordered new tranny coolant seals and new green clips with the radiator. Removed my rad out the bottom too. new one is ready to go in.

Ok, getting ready to change the radiator with your instructions, it’s a major life and money saver like I mentioned. Last year my radiator cracked, we took it to a mechanic that we thought we trusted, the guy we bought our Volvo from. It cost us over $600, and a little over a year later it went to shit. For one thing, he didn’t replace the upper and lower hoses, the lover hose went to shit, he even over torqued the hose clamp messing up the port. Then as I looked at the radiator, he obviously put in a used cheap ass radiator, and with all this costing us over $600. So after it went bad again, I’ve changed the hoses, the old ones were both shot and bulging, they were the originals. Now I finally was able to afford a radiator, found a good deal for a good one at rockauto.com, for $100. I checked it out and it’s way better than the one the mechanic put in, he seriously put in a bad radiator. I researched the model radiator I bought and it all has high marks, and with my budget it was affordable. I’ve watched this video many times burning it in my head, now I’m getting ready to get to work. This is saving me hundreds of dollars, I’m not a mechanic but I’ve worked on many of my cars over the years, I’ve swapped radiators before, but never on a Volvo, I was stressed trying to figure it out, then I found this video and it seriously made my year, thanks again, I’ll post how the swap went when I’m done, lol

I have a 2003 S80 2.9 non turbo, and with the help of your video was able to get the whole thing tore down while I'm awaiting my parts to come in. BUT, I dunno if this is something different about the 03 model, but in my very frustrating time trying to wiggle the rad out, another, rather large shroud thingy just fell out with it. I didn't see anything like that in your video. It looks like a kind of half shroud with weather stripping all around it. I just have no idea where exactly it came from. Maybe in front of the condenser? I had a lil trouble keeping the condenser held up where it goes. I used a small floor jack like you did, but it didn't wanna stay on top of it...I hope I didn't mess it up by letting it hang a few times when it fell off the jack. Silly me for not noticing it but do you or anyone else know what I'm talking about? It's not the thin plastic piece that goes around the rad and condenser. It's hard to explain, wish I could send a pic. I haven't been able to find it on ANY parts diagrams or other websites. I'm perplexed as hell. (and feel real dumb that I didn't see where it came from when it fell out the bottom.) about half of it is solid, as in, not a wide open circle....it seems almost like it would restrict half of the air flow. Maybe it directs more air to the fan? I just don't know. My car always ran at perfect temp with it in there. I'm only having to do this because I hit a large piece of concrete protruding up through a moron's shitty drive way. It bent the condenser real good too, but that didn't break...just bent pretty bad. If you or anyone knows what and where this thing goes, please help. Sorry for the novel, but my best guess is that it goes in front of the condenser....just didn't look at it close enough first. thanks!

If its not the piece that goes in between the rad and ac condenser or the bottom should under the car I'm not sure what it would be... sry bud
@jvincent14464 жыл бұрын
@@ArchersGearheadGarage I'm pretty sure this car was hit from the front by the prev owner. So who knows what they did when fixing it. Unless I can figure it out for sure, maybe I'll just leave it out and see what happens. I don't see it anywhere in your vid. BTW, that valley pan isn't even on my car....probably got left out by the place who fixed it after an accident. Oy Vey! Well thanks for the quick reply :) And in any case, your vid was immensely helpful. I'll let you know what happens after I finish this up in a week or so. (Parts on order)

OK, got the new rad in and discovered that the shroud in question goes in front of the condenser. It's supposed to be held in place by 2 speed-nuts that weren't there, so it just fell out. Shoddy previous repairs from a former accident. Getting that radiator in there was a sumbitch with that bent condenser, but we (my gf helped, holding things in place..) succeeded. Thanks again!

I couldn't take the radiator out from the bottom on the passenger side. Mine is a 2.8 T6 from 1999 and the data cables and a pipe were blocking the way. I could not lift the radiator over the inlets of the condenser. I managed to take out the radiator and condenser together from the top at the (not UK) drivers side after I folded away a big air hose I don't see in this video. My condenser has two big inlets on either side that obstruct the radiator.

Hi, I have the same issue, how did you remove it and replace it?
@spostma734 ай бұрын
@@ricardoramos3095 oh man that was 6 years ago... I do know that the air filter pipes and turbo hoses all have to go. If it has an automatic transmission make sure you have the hose clamps and rings in stock for the transmission fluid pipes. If one breaks the engine cannot start.

comience por quitar la tubería de entrada y salida, luego la alimentación de aceite y los drenajes. después de eso, desatornilla el turbo. si eso es difícil, desatornille el colector de escape con el turbo conectado
