Hello Mastering How-To! Thank you very much for posting this video. I have just ordered the required parts via your links. You have designed a outstanding bypass for the CR Spotless system. Cannot wait to use it!! All the best to you and thanks again:)

Very nice How-to video tutorial. I think it's much cheaper and look nicer to go with the "Waterdrop Spotless Car Wash System".

Can this still be wall mounted?
@MasteringHow-To7 ай бұрын
Of course but it would be silly to mount this on the wall. This unit is meant for portability. It’s a lot to do just to stick it on the wall.

Lol I wall mounted it inside my mobile van setup. Been working great for a month.

Thanks for the great instruction!!! What is the flow ( gallons/min) for the bypass /filter ? CR Spotless now offers a bypass - but different design from your set up - yours seem better ? Your thoughts? Thanks !!
@Ally.MacMillan5 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing. Bypass is always a great addition to DI vessels etc. Just one thing, TDS stands for total dissolved solids, not solvents. HTH 👍

Great great instructional video. Since your video seems that Car Spotless has released a bypass option. Wondering if it’s as good as your homemade bypass ? Thanks !!! Owen from Atlanta

They had their own version prior to my video. I just didn’t like how cheap it is. It’s basically a hose and a 3 way valve. Very flimsy.

If you have a water softener in your home, would you need this?
@owensamuels-h1r2 ай бұрын
Thanks again for the creative solution- I’m gathering all the fittings. 3 questions - is overkill to add a second 3 way valve at the exit ? Or just unnecessary ? Connecting the pipe ( need a crimp tool /clamps? ). Lastly , any suggestions to install a carrying handle ? Thanks so much ! Owen from Atlanta 😊

The first link for 3/4"NPT elbow made by parker is not available on amazon and can't find any others there. Was going to order from Livingston and Haven but shipping is over $30. Is there another online source for these from a seller you would trust with a decent price and shipping?

I’m confused/I bought all the parts because it looks way better and less bulky than the obsessed garage Prevost portable solution But my question is u have only one 3 way ball valve on the water in side so when u have it turn off/the water doesn’t go back reverse into the cr spotless?
@iKone9117 ай бұрын
Edit: Just priced all the parts and we are looking at about $215 before buying Pex and crimping tool. So the $75 one on CR Spotless site is not the same price. It's out of stock currently. I know this version is much higher quality, but just saying. Almost three times the cost. I'm looking at doing this with my system, but I'm just wondering, couldn't you contaminate the water in the filter tank with dirty (high TDS) water on the exiting Y valve? Since there isn't a valve to shut it off from going toward the filter tank, I would think some of it would mix. Even if it's just a bit, it could be enough to contaminate. No? The Y valve that has a shut off valve is also actually cheaper right now, so I'm really curious.
@MasteringHow-To7 ай бұрын
$215? No way. Unless you’re looking at all Parker. I posted the links in the description. Much cheaper than that!
@MasteringHow-To7 ай бұрын
And nope. I asked the company about that. Once the tank is filled with water… water will not enter back into the tank. I was going to put a t valve there but I got confirmation from company it’s not needed. Good catch on that! I was worried as well.

@@iKone911hey so I put Parker parts on there. I just wanted to let people see what the parts were. Parker is very very expensive. So you use the list I gave as a guide. Don’t buy Parker. It’s too much. I had those already since I have a car wash… a Parker elbow is like $25.00. You can find a 3/4 elbow ok Amazon for a quarter of the price. Sorry if I didn’t clarify that in the video.

On the DIC-20 model, does dolly's upright handle interfere with the PEX hose? Thank you.
@MasteringHow-To9 ай бұрын
I’m not sure. I designed this because I want it to be portable and not have to really use the dolly.

How long is the hose?
@MasteringHow-To Жыл бұрын
The pex is around 14inches long. You can purchase a short piece of pex at your local Home Depot or Lowe’s for under $5-$10.00. Depending which fittings you go with would slightly change the distance between them, which would then change the length of the pex. I would suggest buying a small piece and cutting it to length once you have everything installed.

@@MasteringHow-To my mistake, I thought you went through all this trouble to add a very nice and sleek bypass valve to extend the life of your cr spotless system.

They sell this unit with an integrated bypass. Why didn’t you purchase that one?
@justinschuyler8 ай бұрын
The stubby Zurn handles don’t even come close to fitting the 3-way ball valve tee. The opening for the threaded stud is way too small. Besides that it worked out great after I chased down some leaks. Ended up having to use teflon tape and ptfe dope on all the fittings.

Hey I’m so sorry. I used a dremel to cut it a little bit. I forgot to mention that. I used that cone shape dremel bit. It took about 5 minutes. Please wear goggles.
