DIY Wedding guest dress (Making a beautiful dress in the simple way) | Step by step sewing tutorial

Hi everyone,
Welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is Jess and I love doing DIY, making clothes in a "simply but pretty" way.
In today's video, I'm going to share with you how I made a Wedding guest dress. This dress is a combination between a tank top and a cotton dress that I made out of 2 rectangles. That's why it's a super easy and beginner friendly sewing project that you can finish just in a day.
To make this DIY, please check out some of my basic information below:
- Sewing machine: Brother Auto Tension.
- Material: 2.2m of linen rayon fabric and 0.5m of cotton fabric for lining
- My body measurements: 80-68-92 (bust-waist-hip). I'm 165cm and usually wear Small size.

Really appreciate it :) Having said that, I tried making this dress following your instructions to the T (with my measurements ofcourse) and I there is a gap. The front bodice is quite smaller in width than the back bodice. I'm wondering if we should take 1/2 bust size and waist size instead of 1/4 that you mention here. Or am I missing something? Any insights are welcomed. Again thank you for your time. Just a student learning

such a lovely dress, i really want to make it! i am confused about one part though. for the skirt, you only gathered the front part of the skirt to fit the width of the front bodice. how did you sew the back part of the skirt to the back bodice, since the back skirt is so much bigger than the bodice?

I just gathered the front skirt to be the same with the front bodice. I keep the back open. Because the width of the back skirt is already the same with the width of the back bodice.

Beautiful dress but I need to mention that many people would find it offensive to wear this dress as a guest to a a wedding, there's too much white. It depends on the bride and cultural group of course.

Vietnamese wedding dresses are red so it would be offensive to wear red to a Vietnamese wedding.

This is the floral printing fabric. So as long as it’s not pure white, it’s fine in my culture to wear this dress to the wedding. And yes, it also depends on the bride and the culture of the wedding as well.

Floral prints like this one are ok. I have been to a few weddings where guests wore dresses like this one. Besides, not every culture has the same wedding dress colour.
