My favorite thing about BOTH of your channels is this: The love and respect Hannah and Jeff show each other. Cut from the same cloth, for sure, but their family tie, despite the Jeff not being with Hannah’s mother, is even more impressive. God bless y’all, and I appreciate y’all.

If you swapped that plastic can for galvanized you could use a mild acid wash to make a patina on the metal can and it would match the old barn tin you used inside the house.

Love the house Hannah, Jeff, that place is a masterpiece. The house itself it great but what puts it over the top is the memories and stories that place can tell already. From the pieces of tin and where they came from, all the hunts that produced mounts, the family furniture, wood off your mill. etc etc. I love that part when building a house... adding little pieces of history or family artifacts or lumber into the build and/or design.

Those tables are awesome, We have two very old antiques in our home, one is from my Wife's Great Great Grandfather it is a table and the other is my Great Great Grandmother Desk, which our family has taken it all over the world. Hannah home is slowly coming along, but she is still young and has a lifetime to fill it full of memories. My Grandfather told me once a home is finished or you consider it done, it is time to move, a true home is never finished a real home grows with you. God Bless Y'all

Jeff, I can see where you got your skills from, your grandfather and grandmother were both talented folks and that table and the painting are really great. Hannah's house is becoming exactly what she wanted with a lot of help from you. The barrel garbage can turned out really good.

Great video!!! Good job on the whiskey barrel trashcan. The magazine rack and table from your grandparents is freaking awesome. I’m all about passing down stuff for my grandparents also. If you don’t repurpose the top of that whiskey barrel then use that to smoke or cook a steak over. It will be amazing. Kind of like buying Jack Daniels pellets or wood chips. You won’t be disappointed. Keep up the good work.

Jeff you can make a bar out of the other whiskey barrel cut a Few doors and make a couple shelves and that’s where he can Store alcohol and mixers. Just an idea. The Tables are definitely a treasure and and beautiful.
@kenbacchus43885 ай бұрын
Keep the top on the barrel, put about 10 gl of water in barrel, place barrel on its side, rotate the barrel weekly, 3-4 months later, drain barrel, filter, and have bourbon/water drinks. Water will soak into wooden staves in/out capturing some Jack Daniel. Did that many times years ago when you could buy freshly drained whisky barrel. Yes you have to put screws through metal rings into the staves.

Replace the handles with jute or sisal rope handles. Much better fit for Hannah's decore!
@johnsadler86375 ай бұрын
I was going to suggest that. If the plastic handles were cut off at about an inch, the jute rope could be through that base, which is probably more robust than the rest of the rim. The stubs would hold the can the same height.

It makes me smile to see the furniture being passed down to another generation of the family. I wish I had all the custom toolboxes my Grandfather built when he retired. My Dad gave them to someone else because he thought I was uninterested. I have no idea why he felt that, but I did not have the heart to tell him how sad that made me.

As soon as I saw the space opposite of the whisky barrel trash can, I thought make the other barrel into a liquor cabinet with two lazy Susan type shelves an upper shelf for glasses and a lower shelf for liquor bottles. One narrow door to access it and casters so you can store it under the stairs when not in use or roll it around where you want it. Just a basic idea that you can expand to your own liking.

Years ago in Newfoundland we could buy(very very cheap) the empty liquor barrels from the liquor store. Pour hot 5 gallons of hot water in it, roll it around, sit on side, turn 1/8 each day. We called it swish and usually got about a 15% alcohol

Tip for opening a barrel. Push top hoop off, push one edge of the the top down in a spiral. It bumps it out of the trough and lets it be pulled out. Barrels were used for cargo in the navy until 1893.
