DIY Wide Bottom Tote/Hand bag from one piece of fabric with zip!

Hi Guys I hope u enjoy yet again this cute handbag. It has a wide bottim and sits on its own.
I used this colorful african print fabric

The measurements don’t match. It says 14” x 24”, but what is shown is an even square. It comes out as a rectangle, which makes sense. I tried it at 14x24 as you show on the screen and it’s giving a small trapeze. Is it possible to put the measurements in the comment section and verify this? Thank you for the tutorial.

Hi Lilly you are soooo right. I'm sooooooo sorry I realised when I was calculating the measurements for the subtitles I forgot to put in theqt 2"i removed on each side. So the length is 24"and the width is 18*" not 14" im really sorry it skipped my mind I will try to add something to the video like a note to fix that.

I love how you did the lining separately. I’m new to sewing bags and many videos did outer and lining as one sew. And I had trouble seeing the zipper as I was sewing. I will try this way. Love the design and colors of the bag.

I like that this is a wide bottom purse and that you gave the measurements in inches not cm, Love the fabric, Keep making these great videos I 💗💗💗 them. The only technical Critique I have is that they're called gussets at the bottom of the purse. God bless

Good job! When I make straps I first fold and press in half lengthwise. Then I open it up and fold the edge (almost) to the center, press, and repeat on the other side.

I like the construction of this! I make Jean bags and looking to make “material” from the scraps but in that I was still looking for easier construction. This helps me a lot even if I modify. Some lined bag tutorials with zippers are too complicated. Thanks so much!

A lot of purses / handbags have a very dark lining which makes it hard to see the contents. I really like that this lining is a bright coordinating color .
