Use a exercise ball and cover it in paper mache, leave the top open it let the air out of the exercise ball , cover the ball in plastic wrap so you can get the ball out clean.

I learned wood working from my Dad. The love of Halloween started at a young age. Last year I just pushed myself to try some new techniques, and I watched so videos on how stage sets are made. It is trial and error, and most of the time it works out.

Impressive !!!! I design and build exhibits for the NC Science museums, but have never done anything for Halloween. Spray foam is a heavy use item though. We also glue together blocks and planks of styrofoam and then carve it to shape using right angle grinders with disks having bolts sticking out of them for the rough carving (dangerous, but necessary). Then we resort to electric carving knives and scrapers for the finer work. Large rocks and even walk-in caves have been built this way. You do "impressive work". Please post some videos of all of this in use on Halloween. Charley

Hi CharleyL, it sounds like you have a fun job! I did do some light stone work at the bottom of the witch house, I used a small wire brush grinder that fits into the end of a drill to carve the Styrofoam. I would like to try some larger, more complex rock work one day. I have a few more videos to post before Halloween, but I will post one showing it in use. Thanks for the positive feedback!

What did you use for the tripod ???

3 wood poles used to brace trees after they are first planted. The sell them in the garden section of home improvement stores. Then I tied it together with natural fiber rope.

KZbinr Leena P and her husband made this in 2018 using cardboard and tape too. I like that you used the newspaper idea. I think I’m going to use plaster wrap since I have like 11 rolls left from my Christmas village Harry Potter projects. Great video. Is that a 17 gallon tub?
@CyborgVlog3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I did watch a few other videos of people making these before trying myself. I used the newspaper in hopes that it would be a smoother surface. I think the plaster wraps are a good idea. I used a 18 gallon tub. Thanks for watching and commenting. Let me know how your project turns out. Have a great Halloween.

When Spray painting the foam for the coals did you have to wait any amout of time to let thr Red paint Dry before you hit it with the Black Spray paint? Currently trying to make the coals myself and wasn't sure if I need to let the Red Spray Paint dry first.

Did them both almost immediately. Don’t think there is a wrong way to do it.

@@CyborgVlog Again, thanks so much for the response. I truly appreciate it. I finished the foam "coals" and used your video to make them and they turned out really good if I must say so myself...lol. So glad I found your channel

What kind of spray starch did you use?
@CyborgVlog2 жыл бұрын
I actually wouldn’t suggest the spray kind I used. I recommend StaFlo liquid starch. The store was out of it, so I just picked up what I could find, but it didn’t work as good. Pour the liquid in a shallow pan and drag the paper strips through, then adhere to the project. Thanks for watching!

Can you be hired to recreate the Hocus Pocus house for a children’s party? Or is the previous one that you built available for purchase?

Hi, currently I’m just building these as a hobby. I plan on using the current one a few more times, but thanks for asking. Have you thought about building one?

It is a 18 gallon tub from Target, but you might be able to find one at most retail stores.

I put a spray lacquer, but I still brought it in if I thought it was going to rain. I had visions for waking up to a pile of paper and cardboard from a rain storm.
